My listing today is for a 2003 ESP MX250 II in excellent condition. This guitar is set up with two EMG 81’s and Sperzel locking tuners. The standard dot inlays were replaced with Mother of Pearl “Don’t Tread On Me” coiled snake inlays into the ebony fingerboard. The ebony fingerboard is the original one installed by ESP and is in excellent condition. I had the inlays done by a highly skilled professional luthier. The mother of pearl inlays glisten in the light. It is almost like they glow. In addition to the inlays the fingerboard received new Dunlop 6100 jumbo frets as part of the inlay process. The original paint is also intact and in great condition. Just the normal playwear and/or cleaning swirls etc. Let me also assure you that this is not one of the cheap replicas you see on other websites, this is the real deal ESP MX250 the I had customized with snake inlays. To the best of my knowledge I don’t think this guitar was ever produced by ESP for the public. With these inlays installed this would make this MX250 an extremely rare guitar. This explorer is an exact clone of James Hetfield’s “snake” guitar. The guitar will come to you in excellent condition. It has had play time on it before the inlays were done so it was not a case queen. This guitar has also not been abused either. Since the inlays were installed it has been played very little. There was a 1/4 paint chip on the lower corner which is common on these guitars due to it’s shape and I had my luthier repair it. The repair looks great and you have to look hard to see it. If you didn’t know it was there your eyes would look right past it. Let me just say this guitar looks incredible. It plays and sounds great. As some of you already know these guitars did not always come with a hardcase. Many came with a gig bag. This one will come with a fitted ESP gig bag. It will be packaged tight and secure.
