This is Gibson’s very first reissue of the late 50’s master piece and yes it is as stunning as you see it in the pics but only better in real life! Normal playing wear not only gives this the true look of the 1958 thru 1960 Les Paul Burst, but the feel, tone, sound that that you could only expect from an original vintage Les Paul Guitar. The guitar has no breaks and while it has marks, wear, belt marks is rock solid all the way around and never abused. This feel of the neck is big round and fast playing. The frets are in great shape and still original. The pickups say Patent Applied For and while they look extremely old, I think they are very early Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers. I love the way Tim Shaw’s sound but to be totally honest, these actually sound better. Rich in harmonic content and even more like the original PAF’s. And who knows, they might be…… But I’m assuming they are 57’s. I bought the guitar over 10 years ago just as you see it and only played it at my home.
