My luthier went completely over this instrument–it has new strings–cleaned and polished and is intonated and set up for my preferences with a working truss rod–original frets and a beautiful fretboard that looks like dark brazilian to me but is of course ebony–tuners are original and stay locked in tune–the entire guitar including the case–which is really worn outside but protects the guitar inside is original. This is a laminate top of course as all the es series are–for this reason the small finish cracks around the jack–notable in scan #6– are not through the wood but are surface cracks in the finish–likely someone torqued the nut too tight–the jack is in perfect working order and dead tight to the body. The end result is an astounding variation in tonal range not available with humbuckers alone–this is a Blues guitar through and through though it does with the right peripherals excel at jazz and rock. Thank you for looking–no reserve. The special order mentioned that for all appearances is a factory job–are the two mini-toggle switches which are coil splitters and not taps–this is what adds tremendously to the diversity and tonal range of the ceramic stock dirty fingers pickups. The black string pin missing in scan 6 fell in the case when i was re-stringing the guitar–it’s now back on–and fully functioning.
