2003 Gold Top Standard in good condition. Plays and sounds beautiful, great neck, just set up by Matt at 30th Street Guitars in NYC. This is a real deal solid body Les Paul’s before they started weight relief and clambering, so it has the weight these guitars were known for. I play a couple of songs live with this guitar but it’s not been heavily played week in week out. The guitar is in fully functioning, good condition but it’s not a museum piece. It’s overall clean but there a few aesthetic things here and there which I want to point out. I tried to capture these in the photos but it isn’t easy. Ask me questions if anything is unclear. The guitar is starting to age nicely, there is aging/oxidation on most of the hardware, the binding is turning to that aged gold color. Aesthetics: there are a few bumps here and there I want to call out: they aren’t easy to capture in the photos, nothing major just little nicks and small dents here and there…… There is some worming on the back of body but light, front of body very clean with only a couple of pinhead sized dents, a few scratches around the the top and side of headstock and bottom of guitar, there’s a small dent towards bottom of neck (like half a little nail size), some barely noticeable finish checking on back of neck (took me a while to even notice this). Electronics and pick ups work perfect, as do tuners. There is some light fretware which I tried to capture, as I mentioned this guitar has been gigged but not played that frequently. There’s a tiny chip in the nut close to bottom E string, but it does not effect playability in any way, the string remains solidly in place (hadn’t noticed it until I took the photos). Everything is original apart from the jack place which has been switched to a metal one from the typical plastic ones (much better than the plastic IMO). This had been done when I bought it a few years ago, and you can see a small part of a small screw hole that was probably a hole that fitted the original plate – you have to look closely to see it. Come with original case which has a couple of scrapes but very good condition (I don’t know the lock combination). I’ve tried to be as clear as possible on the condition of the guitar and price it fairly. It’s a complete rock machine and I’m going to miss it.
