Philip Kubicki was a renowned luthier who worked at Fender from 1964 to 1973. During his tenure at Fender Kubicki created several prototypes including the Fender Telecaster Thinline, an electric violin, and the first rosewood Telecaster for George Harrison, which the Beatle used to record Let It Be, before starting his own company. Built 1983, this guitar has been gigged heavily, and shows signs of natural relicing. However, the guitar works perfectly. There are no issues that prevent the guitar being played and gigged at all. Plays great and sounds great. Weight: About 7.5 lbs. Neck: Thin C shape. Features correct Telecaster headstock. Body route is stock as S-S-S. Some modifications have been done to the guitar, namely. Pickups changed to Van Zandt True Vintage set. Refret done about 2 years ago (still have plenty of life left). Tuners upgraded to Grotoh. Bridge upgraded to Callaham Vintage. Replaced 7 screw pickguard with 5 screw for a more vintage look. Features a rare early DiMarzio Control plate with Sun Logo. Includes Fender hardshell case (see photo). When I bought the guitar, it came with strap locks that had been drilled into the body (off center). I had them removed and had stock strap buttons professionally installed and centered.
