Best sounding and vintage looking LP I’ve ever owned and played! I’ve been asked so many times if this is a real burst that is crazy not only because of the look, but because of the sound as well. This is not your common 50th anniversary 1958 Aged made for the US market in that cherry red sunburst color. This is an extremely rare Japan Limited Edition Lemonburst that as far as I’ve heard, less than 50 where ever made. Since it was for the Japanese market, the attention to detail is far superior in any way. The selection of the tone woods, the QC is more intense and the overall product gets more care. This leads to a way more Custom instrument than an already Custom Shop instrument is. This Custom Shop Les Paul sounds as amazing as it looks. Its got that vintage mojo that only Tom Murphy can capture and you can clearly tell that the aging job is not only superb but also the woods used at that time where top notch. Eastern maple top, old growth Honduran mahogany (there are a few guitars from 2007/2008 on MGL that he also states that) (NOT your typical Fiji plantation custom shop mahogany used these last years), MADAGASCAR Rosewood (closest thing to Brazilian rosewood) although many people told me it looks like Brazilian, I’ve never had any interest to get it verified as it is just a statement, at least to me. If it sounds good, it sounds good, thats it. At least that’s the way I see it. Again, not Honduran, MADAGASCAR! The neck is not the typical’58 big shape, rather it is a’59 and probably the best and most accurate vintage neck shape. This guitar is just amazing in any way, shape and form you see it or hear it. It comes with all the case candy, COA, Paperwork, QC paperwork, Japan paperwork and the extra commemorative 50th anniversary pickguard. Also to be noticed, just on a side note, this guitar looks very very similar to Slash’s original Kris Derrig Les Paul. Not only the top looks alike but the actual Grain pattern of the mahogany back is very similar! I’ve worked with one of his techs and he stated that this guitar sounded and felt as good as you would expect from a vintage burst. If you are interested, I can send.
