This is a Gibson USA Les Paul Special in nitro cherry finish with Gibson hard case. This is one of the finest Gibson electric guitars I have played. You will not find a better Gibson electric guitar at this price point… It’s very well crafted without any of the issues that modern Gibsons can be known for. The action is absolutely perfect; it bends and chords like butter with absolutely no fret issues. Neck is very comfortable with a relatively flat board radius and medium-slim neck profile. The nut width is absolutely perfect in my view – great for soloing but wide enough to be able to chord easily. The quality nitro cherry finish on this guitar really stand out. It’s a gloss finish, but like an actual vintage Gibson the neck is very fast to play because the nitro finish is thin and smooth. The thin nitro finish also really lets this guitar breath. It’s very resonant. Having a one-piece body and neck really help in that regard as well. The only downside to the thin finish is that the guitar has some minor dings and scratches, including on the back, cutaway, and headstock. These marks are purely cosmetic and only noticeable at. But again, that’s why vintage Gibsons have such a great patina that modern poly guitars don’t have – it’s the nitro finish! The neck is bound in a beautiful cream binding, just like a historic single cut mid/late 1950’s Special. Another huge upgrade on this Special are the Kluson Deluxe tuners. Most Specials come with strip, button tuners, so the Klusons really help with tuning stability. Pickups are classic P90’s that are the right balance of aggressive, clear and voice-like tone. Volume and tone knobs work perfectly. It’s easy to dial the right amount of gain and roll-off with these pots. Les Paul Specials are just as versatile as Les Pauls equipped with humbuckers, except I find the neck position on a Special to be a lot more usable. Comes with a Gibson factory case.
