During his encore, he set the guitar on fire in what would become one of his most iconic moments. In 1997, to celebrate Monterey Pops 40th anniversary, the Fender Custom Shop commissioned artist Pamelina H. To hand-paint 210 reproductions of Hendrixs hearts-and-swirls guitar. These custom-shop reproductions are now arguably the most-desired Fender production models in existence. A Monterey Pop Strat, as its known, is nearly impossible to find for sale. There have been two modifications to the guitar set up for a right-handed player: the top strap hook has been moved over to the longer horn and the left-handed nut has been replaced with a right-handed nut, however the left-handed nut is included. All the “case candy” is included except for the laminated backstage pass. For any serious collector, this guitar is a must have any serious collector! Cosmetic and Functionality Description.
