Here we have one of the ultimate Gretsch collector’s items! This is a 1958 Gretsch 6120 in a custom black finish. As you may know, there are no custom color 6120s. This is the only known example, aside from the guitars Gretsch built for Chet Atkins himself. The only other black 6120 is the legendary black one played extensively by Atkins throughout his career. The guitar features its original humbucker pickups (this was very early in the game for Humbuckers), original Bigsby tremolo system, and all other original parts. I’ve uploaded a photo here of the guitar being played by its original owner in 1960. The guitar is in excellent condition, and plays like a dream! All electronics function as they should.
