1981 Gibson Sonex 180 Custom in original and very cool Candy Apple Red finish in very good overall condition, no case. This vintage Sonex looks to be all original (except the gold speed knobs) – featuring twin Zebra Coil’Velvet Brick’ pickups and the mini toggle switch that came stock on the Sonex Custom models. There are scratches and dings just from normal use and play, and there are some indents on the back of the guitar from a’curly cable’ that the guitar must have been resting on inside its case. Other than that – frets are in great shape – lots of life – nice dark rosewood fingerboard, as well. A previous owner scratched some initials lightly in the back of the neck plate and the back of the headstock between the bottom two tuners – not a big deal but visible. There is also a finish check running along the treble side headstock seam -not a structural flaw, just some finish checking along that line.
