BEAUTIFUL GIBSON USA SG FADED SPECIAL 2006 IN A WORN BROWN FINISH ELECTRIC GUITAR. FULL SET-UP INC NEW STRINGS! This is a beautiful example of a 2006 Gibson SG. This guitar is in a great condition. The only blemishes I can find is a very small indentation on the top of neck, but you can’t feel it as you play and a few small dings to the front of the body. The guitar is in amazing condition and the wood grain pattern is absolutely stunning. The frets are in amazing condition and the electronics are all working as they should. The case is original and clean with no bad smells–the violet color on the pickups is a reflection of the case lining–the hardware is not tarnished and in excellent condition as is the finish and the neck–the guitar was freshly set up prior to sale by my luthier with 10 d’darrios on it and intonated –the action is exceptional and the truss rod is working perfectly–if you don’t know the RD series check them out online–these are already collectible and will increase in value. This is the first year–1979–the guitar was made–i like getting first and last years of a series–the Custom is the most advanced of the 3 in the series the other two being the Standard and Artist–the custom has the awesome maple fretboard with a bound neck making it fast and smooth to play. It’s also extremely well balanced–the long scale neck carried by the Moog electronics which add some weight to the back end. This guitar is not mint but it’s pretty close and for 40 years of playing it’s in standout condition cosmetically as well as electronically. Beautiful playing and cosmetically exceptional as well as all original–exception the grovers–les paul standard from 1978 with the original hard case. Solder is untouched–the finish is very clean with minimum swirls and a few small nicks–neck looks unplayed and the fretboard is that very dark rosewood–almost ebony and in excellent condition as are the frets–gibson original humbuckers which i imagine are t-tops since this is pre-tim shaw and few standards had dirty fingers. The grovers are in excellent shape and hold tune perfectly and the headstock is very clean. The wood is lovely–the back mahogany has a lot of interesting grain and the maple top has movement throughout the field of the wood creating interesting highlights under lights–beautiful guitar and not to bad for a solid wood LP–about 10 pounds–and of course the sound is iconic–think Allman Brothers.
