All electronics work, tanks are in excellent condition. Module and Phase shifter module are both included. These few out there are starting to get noticed again, and are on the rise, get yours with two modules included, before one. Module will cost you this much. The Electra MPC’s claim to fame was, and is, on-board effects (more commonly referred to as effects modules). No stomp boxes required. If you want to use an effect (wah, phase shifter, etc) , all you have to do is flip a switch on the front of the guitar, and turn a knob (also on the front of the guitar) to adjust the intensity of the effect. Twelve different modules were available. Over the years major musicians endorsed the MPC line, such as, Peter Frampton, Leslie West (signature model), ELO, Allen “Free Bird” Collins, Chris Squire (MPC Bass), The Outlaws (signature guitar & bass), and Rick Derringer (X910 model is also known as the “Derringer” model). Despite these endorsements, the Electra line still disappeared while the SLM went on to produce Westone & Crate products. Today, SLM distributes Crate, Ampeg, Alvarez & Austin products. So as you can see, it’s a misconception that SLM disappeared or went bankrupt… The first school of thought was that the Electra MPC line were shoddily manufactured gimmick guitars. Now, twenty five plus years later, they are finally starting to be recognized for superior craftsmanship and playability. For years many Electra’s languished in pawn shops while buyers focused on vintage Fenders and Gibson’s. Now, there seems to be a resurgence in both their value and reputation for quality. This is an Electra x340 MPC electric guitar in overall excellent condition. This guitar comes with two on-board effect modules, Power Overdrive and Dynamic Fuzz. It has the rare modified open-book headstock shape. The body is solid mahogany with a laminated top. The neck appears to be maple with a rosewood fretboard. The nut has been replaced with a bone nut; all other parts are original. All electronics work properly. The pots and switches have been cleaned and work smoothly and quietly. The effect circuit requires a 9v battery (not included). The repair is visible but solid. Frets have been leveled recently and are in very good shape. Action has been set to medium. The finish has a few small defects: chips on the back around the cavity covers, a couple small dings on the top edge of the headstock, and very light scratches on the body (nearly invisible unless you look for them). The top is laminated and shows some very fine hairline cracks. These are only on the surface, so they won’t cause any structural problems. The hardware has lost some of the gold plating and there are signs of oxidation on the surface. All adjustment screws work – nothing is seized. Comes with hardshell case.
