Silvertone model 1448 guitar + original case with the built-in valve amp. Made in USA in the 60s. It is a 3/4 scale guitar, so its super light. It was just adjusted to play at a nice comfortable action. Frets and fretboard are like new, and the neck is super straight. The leather in the sides is in great condition, it will just need a good clean up. The body and neck are in amazing condition, just a couple of small bumps can be seen. All the hardware is original and working as it should. The case is in good shape, although the black leather is quite worn, lets remember its been around for 50/60 years. The amp works well and sounds quite nice and warm! It works with 110V, so I will include an European 220/240V transformer, and an UK adaptor. Marks and cosmetic details might be present if it’s classified as “used”, unless I state otherwise. I might not sell to new users, or if your qualifications are not good, thanks for understanding. The item will be carefully packed, and sent with a tracked and insured service. I aim to dispatch my items within 2 days (except during weekends), if it takes a bit longer than that I apologise. This is a great bass. Has the original case, but has some corner braces on the corners. The bass has a changed tuner and knob. The guitar plays good. Both pick-ups are working but. A little buzzing was noticed. Cleaned the pots and most went away. Cool bass guitar, does have nice action. Could use a bit of adjustment at the wood bridge. For the highest frets.. This vintage 1950s Silvertone guitar sounds amazing! The serial number, 1039, is stamped in the next pocket and within the body as shown in the pictures. This dates its production as the 10 week of 1959. When not playing it, you can hang it on your wall for an awesome vintage look! Up for sale, a 1965 Silvertone model 1454 in excellent condition and in good working order. Produced for Sears under their “Silvertone” brand by Harmony in the USA, this model is analogous to the H75-78 series of instruments which were the flagship guitars in the Harmony catalog. This particular example is 100% original aside from a new vibrato spring and has been sparingly played over the past 50+ years. This guitar features all maple, full hollowbody construction and a trio of DeArmond Gold Foil pickups with silver diamond covers. Acoustically, the guitar has a strident, percussive quality that translates well through the pickups. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and strung with 11-50 strings, this 1454 is a real stunner and weighs in at a mere 6lbs 15oz. The neck has a medium C profile that has a surprising amount of chunk and roundness in the shoulders, filling the palm comfortably for easy chording and clean lead lines. The original frets are present and have been leveled and crowned, currently showing zero wear and playing cleanly all the way to the last fret with consistent, low action. On the headstock, the original Silvertone silkscreened logo is intact and the stock open back Waverly tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The original nut is intact and measures 1 3/4. All of the original hardware is present as well including the carved rosewood bridge, clear mini DeArmond bell knobs, cream baton switch tips, and nitrate tortoise appointments. All pickups retain their original “Rowe DeArmond” stickers on the bottom and all sport identical February 5th, 1965 date codes. The original two-tone red sunburst nitro lacquer finish is vibrant and 100% original, with a glossy sheen that highlights the subtle figuring on the lower bout of the curly maple body. In terms of cosmetic wear, the headstock face shows some scuffing and one tiny cigarette burn below the low E tuner. There’s also one scuff on the bass side upper bout of the top, a touch of buckle rash on the back and a few tiny scattered nicks. A modern hardshell case is included. Up for sale, a 1964 Silvertone “Chris Isaak” Model 1446 in exceptional condition and in good working order. Manufactured by Harmony in the USA and featuring a stock pair of Seth Lover designed (and Gibson manufactured) split coil mini humbuckers, this is an incredibly cool guitar with quality electronics and hardware! These hand wound patent sticker Gibson humbuckers are direct descendants of the famed PAF, and the fullness and midrange focus of these pickups is fantastic, with more open, shimmering top end than a standard humbucker and bass response that is nice and tight, further improved by the hollow body. Seth Lover also designed the Wide Range humbucker that Fender used in many of its Telecasters in the 1970s, and the pickups in this Silvertone are essentially a mini humbucker precursor to that design as well. Not a solder joint is out of place, and this Silvertone is guaranteed to be exactly as it left the factory decades ago. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-50 strings and comfortable action, this Harmony-made Silvertone 1446 is in 100% original condition and is sure to delight serious collectors and players alike. The neck has a chunky C profile like your favorite’50s Gibson, with a smooth gloss finish on the back and a dyed maple fretboard with pearl block inlay and multi-ply binding. The stock frets are in incredible shape, with barely any wear, perfectly crowns, and the full original height of the frets intact. The guitar has consistently and comfortable action up the neck with no buzzing, dead spots, or fretting out even in the highest registers. In terms of nut width, the guitar measures 1 3/4 wide at the nut, but the neck actually has a deceptively slender feel in terms of overall width, given that the neck depth and fretboard width stay consistent up the neck (most guitars typically taper and get wider as you move up the neck). On the headstock, the original “Silvertone” logo is clean and intact, a rarity in itself as these logos were silkscreened instead of being inlayed and often wear away. The original Waverly tuning machines all turn smoothly, hold pitch well, and have straight shafts. On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, and we thoroughly inspected the wiring harness for the purposes of verifying the originality of all components. The pots still have their original shielding cans over the date codes, and we chose to leave those intact. Both pickups have their original patent # stickers on the baseplates, and these pickups are essentially a mini Gibson PAF, produced while there pickups were still hand wound. The 1964 date stamp is also visible on the body through the F hole. The original pickguard, cupcake knobs, and diamond switch surround are in fantastic shape and are still bright white with almost no signs of age. The original B3 Bigsby also works surprisingly well, responding quickly to the lightest touch. Cosmetically, this is a particularly clean example of this fairly rare Silvertone model, with virtually no finish checking and only a few light finish scratches and nicks on the instrument as a whole. The deep gloss black nitro lacquer finish is 100% original, with no touchups or overspray. There is a very slender and professionally repaired crack extending less than 1 on either side of the input jack. Other than light play wear from gentle use over the last 50+ years, this Silvertone 1446 is in exceptional shape and very well kept. The original two-tone blonde and gray chipboard case is included. 1961 Silvertone U-1 electric guitar in a super cool SPARKLE BROWN finish with vintage softshell case – all in excellent overall condition. The Sparkle Brown is a really unique color – definitely has that 60s kitchen counter vibe! Frets are in great great shape – all electronics work as they should.
