Guitars History This is a guitar thats been loved and really well looked after. This guitar is ideal for the collector who wants the feel and sound of the very best Ibanez Jems without worrying about making a pick scratch. A guitar that is full of character, history and nostalgia. None of the marks on this guitar are significant and we had to search very hard to find them. The marks are only lacquer deep and so could quite easily be buffed out should you wish to bring this back to mint. Anything more significant than a pick scratch has been photographed separately. As you will see, they are hard to find and you really have to angle the light to see them. Condition: Fit and Finish This is a fantastic condition 777VBK. The guitar has a fantastic feel, neck and hard ware throughout. Fret Life/Fretboard – Fret-life is still strong with plenty of life left in them. No issues with the frets or fretboard, its a guitar ready to be played Tremolo – A solid example with some wear and tarnish expected of a guitar that has been played. Take a look at the close up pictures to ascertain exact condition. Neck – Original Neck Straight as an arrow with an incredible feel and grain. No cracks or wood problems. These old guitars can sometimes have issue with the nut end causing a crack but this guitar is solid and shows no stress marks in this area. You will see on the close ups a hairline mark (not a crack) in the neck pocket, This is a stress mark in the lacquer only and quite common for these old vintage guitars, extremely minimal in nature and does not penetrate into the wood. Electronics – Sounds like a dream and these pick ups absolutely scream! You will not believe the power of PAF pros if you haven’t heard them before! Body work – Black is deep, green is vibrant. There is no evidence of fading. A few small body bruises on the outside edge, all photographed and the a few marks on the back of the guitar. All clearly marked in the pictures for you to see, none of these marks are truly very obvious places. Case – This guitar comes with the a lovely hard Case in good condition with some marks from old stickers, inside the case is in almost perfect condition. Only a few signs of ware from storage, minimal marking. All elements flawlessly functional. The JEM777 variants are the oldest variants among all JEM models. Currently no 777 model is in production. There are exactly 777 JEM777LNG (which stands for “Loch Ness Green”) guitars around the world, which is also the first variant produced. In 1988 a new black model was introduced which was overall the same save for the inclusion of a rosewood fretboard and the introduction of the now standard vine inlay. The black 777VBK ran until 1992. In 1989 two new models were introduced, or rather to new variations of older models. The 777DY and 777SK models were re released as the. With the rosewood fretboard and vine inlay, and while the pink didnt linger past 1989 the yellow lasted up until 1991. Its also worth mentioning the 777VDY and 777VSK featured Ibanezs Wizard neck where the other models had thicker necks. This is simply one gorgeous instrument in every way–the sunburst is deep and subtle–shading from black through orange into violet especially under the lights–it is in near mint condition–what i’d call excellent with the scans showing what small blemishes will show uo–from 3 feet away it presents like a collector’s guitar. The sound is also equally big and beautiful–the HB1 pickups that Guild is rightfully so famous for are exceptional and this instrument is able to cross genres effortless from Jazz to Blues–to Rock to Country without sacrificing tonal reach–none of this is hyperbole–every player of the X-500 speaks so highly of it. My favorite time for Guilds is the time of George Gruhn and Kim Walker–i have Nightbirds and Bluesbirds as well as DV70 and a D-70 all designed by those luthiers and everyone is exceptional–so when i bought this 500 i looked for one from that era. JAW DROPPING MINT and stored since new 100% original 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe finished in wine red. With original type 1 protector hard shell case. You do not come across these as clean as this every day and I would not be surprised if it was the finest example of this Les Paul Deluxe on the planet. This has all the tags, documents etc that you would get if you bought it new in 1979 and it was bought new, stored away and remained unplayed for many many years. It was bought from a specialist collectoor who only collects either NOS instruments or unused items and to find a finer one, you would need to invent a time machine.. It is unfaded and probably the finest example of this guitar on the planet. Plays like new, no buzzing, low, fast action and dead straight neck. There is no wear on the fingerboard or the frets and of course all the electrics work as new and are totally original. Weight is 4.1Kg which is pretty good for a 70. No issues, no excuses, fully checked out and unreal for a 37 year old guitar.
