Up for sale, a 2007 Ibanez JEM 20th Anniversary Steve Via signature electric guitar in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and hardshell case. Limited to 500 pieces worldwide (only 200 guitars in the USA), this 20th Anniversary model is easily one of the most unique and desirable JEMs ever produced with a solid acrylic body injected with swirls of neon dye and illuminated by green LEDs. Crafted in Japan as part of Ibanez’s top-tier J Craft series, this JEM features an acrylic body which was produced by a Japanese company that fabricates clear tank walls for aquariums. This high grade acrylic is precision cut to the traditional JEM body shape and fitted with TransJem pickups, designed and manufactured by DiMarzio exclusively for this anniversary model JEM to provide optimal performance, given the increased density of the acrylic body compared to traditional tonewoods. DiMarzio designed the TransJem pickups to have greater transient response than standard humbuckers, and each humbucker has individual coils tuned to different frequencies. The middle position single coil. Is based on the DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2, providing more snappy, clear single coil tonalities, and pairing well with the TransJems when additional cut or sparkle is needed. With five-way switching (hum cancelling in all positions), this JEM has a broad tonal spectrum, ideal for singing high gain or clear, complex-sounding cleans. The guitar weighs 11lbs 13oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh strings and slinky action. The five-piece figured maple neck features three pieces of maple with alternating thin strips of walnut, and the satin finish feels great on the palm. The JEM Prestige neck shape is a slender C, measuring. 750 deep at the 1st fret and tapering to. 840 at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features vine inlay, and the last four frets of the 24 fret scale are scalloped. The original 6105 fretwire is flawless, and the guitar plays effortlessly up the 25 1/2 scale. The nut measures 1 11/16 in width, and the headstock retains the original Gotoh tuners with transparent acrylic buttons to match the body. The electronics all function perfectly, with a push/pull Tone pot to engage the green LEDs inside the body. The Edge Pro tremolo shows just a touch of patina on the fine tune adjustments, and the body is near mint, with just a few extremely faint scuffs in the acrylic and on the back lower bout edge. Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary 1974 Ebony Black + OHSC. He Les Paul Custom has a distinctive toneit has slightly more lows and highs than my Les Paul Standard of a similar vintage. It sounds a little more refined. Plugged straight in to. My Marshall JCM 800, this guitar sounds huge but not overly distorted. The vintage pickups convey the power and full tone of the Les Paul Custom. I had planned to have this guitar refurbished, but my band broke up before I got to it. It is basically in the same condition as when I bought it about 20 years ago except now its cleaner. As I bought for recording, it was played very little. It has only been out of its case a few times over the last 17 years. That’s why it’s up for sale. I have not replaced anything on the guitar except the strings. It has the original T-Top pickups, with covers. To my knowledge, all the other electronics are original as well, but I can’t say for sure (one pot looks shinier than the others). The knobs and hardware are all original. I think the tuners are as well. This is a real 20th Anniversary Edition Les Paul, not just a normal 1974 Les Paul Custom. It has the “20th Anniversary” badging on the 15th fret. It also comes with the original hardshell case with the purple interior. The case shows wear after 45 years, but the hinges and latches work. Here are the negatives: It has been mostly repainted. Some of the work, particularly on the top, is not great qualitynot horrible, but not real good. You can see some evidence of overspray along the binding as well. The back of the neck looks good and may be original paint. There is also a repaired fracture on the back of the neck under the peg head. It wasnt broken off, but it did get a small crack. I included a couple of photos. I recently had this guitar evaluated by one of the best luthiers in the Seattle area. He checked the neck repair as much as possible without sanding away the paint. He said he did not feel any flexing and it appeared to be a sound repair. There are nicks and some scratches from before I bought it. It sort of has the old guitar smell from being in the case so long. The guitar is playable but the frets should be replaced. If you have any questions, or need more photos, just ask. Scroll down to see 60+ High Def Images of this guitar! Here’s a 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom in a factory original Gloss Black finish. It has a nearly invisible headstock repair and has about average playwear. The serial number is 386214 and it’s stamped “Made In USA”. The pickups and pots are all original – the pots date to the 37th week of 1974- the orange drop caps look newer. The input jack, knobs and strap buttons are newer – everything else looks original. The top has some scratches, small dings and light scratches- but the finish is 100% all original and unaltered. The back has average playwear with light buckle rash, dings and scratches. The headstock repair is only visible under a black light – – scroll down to see the black light pics. The Gibson Patent number pickups are original and they sound really nice. The neck is straight and the fretless wonder frets are original and in pretty nice condition. It has just been cleaned and detailed. The fingerboard was cleaned, buffed and moisturized with an instrument grade lemon oil. It was set up with 10/46’s, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics were tested and cleaned and they work well. Please take a look at all the pictures- they accurately represent the cosmetic condition. In Near Mint Condition… One ding on headstock as I was taking photos yes I now.. And yes my blood pressure shot up…. Otherwise its dead new. Limited to 100 World Wide It’s the 20th Anniversary of the Ibanez Universe, and in a stroke of genius, The Multi Color is chosen to celebrate it’s long and storied production run. Swirled by the Master and creator of the Multi Color Swirl guitar, Darren Johansen was enlisted by Ibanez to make sure these are worthy of an Anniversary model, and I know you’ll agree after you see any of these in person. To ensure the guitar has the goods, the necks are made by the little specialty Custom Shop, Suggi, who has done the 2610RE double necks, the JSBDG’s, and the PGMFRM’s, and does the highest quality work available. The necks are upgraded to the 5 piece maple / bubinga, volute, and sport larger frets than the very short original frets of the original run, but have kept the original extension necks, with the last 2 frets extending out from the heel to overhang the body. The rest of the guitar is true to the original but the plates are blank, and unnumbered. This was a sample put together for the show and it is not know how they with serialize these for distribution. This swirl was not a sample swirl and was from the first batch of 30 swirled, but of course it should be noted, every swirl will be quite different from each other, and quite unique. This is a 1974, 20th Anniversary Black Les Paul Custom Guitar with Ebony Fingerboard and Custom Gibson neck profile. The Serial number is 698854. The tuners are Kluson waffle backs, the frets have almost no wear and are the original “fretless wonder” type Gibson frets. The Bkack Beauty is a nice weight, about 9/10 lbs. The gold hardware is a bit faded from use and age, which gives a bit of charming character to this instrument. It sustains like crazy, has wonderful sounding t-tops, the neck has a slim profile to it, there is a Made in USA stamp, and there is a volute. There are small swirls on the back, as well as some lite worming in the finish. Overall it is in great condition. It is inlaid at the 15th fret, “20th Anniversary”. Pickups, toggle switch, controls, electronics appear to be all original. The pickups are labeled with: PAT NO: 2,737842 Original tuning pegs Kluson Waffle Back Tuners.
