1975 Ibanez Les Paul Custom. This guitar is a true “Law Suit” era guitar. It is a direct copy and includes the open book headstock. It appears as all original except the input jack with the original included. The pickups are pre-Super 70 and probably made by Maxon. There is some light fret wear, heavy wear and some corrosion to the gold hardware and a few nicks and scratches. There is the typical lacquer stress cracks in the cutaways, typical of bolt-on neck guitars. The guitar has been played and shows it but it has just been set up with new 9 gauge strings and is ready to play. The guitar ships in the SKB hard shell case as shown. In addition, I can not predict how you like your guitar set up. Be advised that minor adjustments or a set-up to your liking may be required and the costs associated with these adjustments should be expected. We offer a 48 hour approval period. Gibson Johnny Smith inspired archtop with dual floating pickups, Gold Hardware, L-5 style tailpiece, Flamed Maple Back, and Sunburst finish. The guitar displays some play wear with some typical long finish checking on the top and some nicks & dings. A few small dings were touched up in the past. One original tuner failed in the past and a newer Ibanez tuner was installed using the original tuner button. Most of these Johnny Smith archtops came with an older archtop style 1/8 input jack. This one has had an appropriate 1/4 input jack installed requiring one extra screw hole in the pickguard. The bridge pickups on these Johnny Smith guitars tend to sink with the only support being at the pickguard. Sound hole label missing. An easy playing Ibanez lawsuit archtop. These Open Book Headstock Ibanez archtops do not come up for sale often. Included is the original worn but very functional hardshell case.
