Hello, for your consideration is a 2012 Fender Custom Shop 1959 Esquire (Telecaster) Closet Classic. It is in great shape with with no play wear other than the relicing from the Fender Custom Shop. It plays very well and rings out across the board. The guitar has a nitro Copper finish that looks great. It has had the following changes, pickups replaced with Fralin Blues Special set. I was going for a stealth esquire look and they do a good job, sound great as well! The original Texas Special Pickups and pickguard are included with the guitar. The pickguard is a lacquered bakelite guard with relicing to match the rest of the guitar. The neck is a late 50s D that is. 81in at the 1st fret and. 98in at the 12th fret. It fills out very nicley as you move up the neck. The board is 9.5in radius and it has med jumbo frets. The guitar weighs 7.2 lbs with both pickups in, nice and light. The saddles are compensated brass. It comes with original case all the case candy, COA and an inspection report/certificate from Dave’s Guitar Shop. It is a great guitar from the Eldred era. Aesthetically, it needs little introduction, as it sports a luminous Chartreuse Sparkle finish complete with thorough finish checking and a beautifully-figured AAA flame maple neck that looks equally fantastic from both the front and back. Its 50s-style soft V profile neck plays beautifully, adding that much more playability value to an already fantastic guitar. 1960 custom shop Strat First Year guitar- 1999. By now it looks like a real 1960 Strat. 3 color sunburst, rosewood slab fretboard with figured maple neck. Original pickups with the’modern’ 5 way switch wiring, new CTS pots with’no-load’ tone controls to eek out more a bit more treble and’quack’ from the the 5 way. Also fully shielded pick guard and body for a bit less noise. Small bald spots on either side of headstock, from from a guitar hanger, etc but blends in anyway with the weather-checked finish and hardware. No repairs, no fret wear (see pics), no worries. Approx 8 pounds, original brown case in good condition. Nicer than the later custom shop re-issues, and by now the pickups have aged enough to sound right. I’ve included the spec sheet below for your reference.
