There were a few scratches where the paint was chipped, which were repaired lightly, but I polished it up and it’s in excellent condition and ready to use. The neck is straight. The string height is about 1.5mm at the 6th string, 12th fret. About 80% of the frets remain. There seems to be plenty of room in the truss rod. This guitar might also suit a guitarist or vocalist. The adapter is missing, so we checked the sound output with batteries. There are scratches and dents, but there is no problem with use. The arm is missing. The case is original and clean with no bad smells–the violet color on the pickups is a reflection of the case lining–the hardware is not tarnished and in excellent condition as is the finish and the neck–the guitar was freshly set up prior to sale by my luthier with 10 d’darrios on it and intonated –the action is exceptional and the truss rod is working perfectly–if you don’t know the RD series check them out online–these are already collectible and will increase in value. This is the first year–1979–the guitar was made–i like getting first and last years of a series–the Custom is the most advanced of the 3 in the series the other two being the Standard and Artist–the custom has the awesome maple fretboard with a bound neck making it fast and smooth to play. It’s also extremely well balanced–the long scale neck carried by the Moog electronics which add some weight to the back end. This guitar is not mint but it’s pretty close and for 40 years of playing it’s in standout condition cosmetically as well as electronically.
