Vintage 1960 Gibson ES335 335 TDN Natural Original Blonde Dot Guitar One Owner. Well, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own such a rare and beautiful ONE OWNER guitar right from 1960. We like to call this the Cranston King after its original owner. This original natural finish Gibson ES335 TDN has been in the same family since purchasing brand new in 1960/1961 from Waltons Music Shop in Dublin. It was gigged by a professional jazz musician since new who played throughout his career in various bands, most notably for Michael OCallaghan show band, including at places such as Corks Guinness Jazz Festival and the Rose of Tralee. It has been since sat under the bed for decades and has recently been kindly offered to The Music Locker for sale on behalf of the family of the original owner. The beautiful flower decals were put on during one of the early concerts and have been on ever since. I will not be removing them – theyre a piece of history in themselves for sure! Just look at that natural crazing too! I have checked this guitar in depth and have given it a good going over trust me, I dragged the appraisal out as long as I could to have it in my possession for as long as possible! The original PAF pickups had never been out of the guitar until I carefully removed them to check underneath. They are 100% original to the guitar and are in stunning condition and in full working order. The original ABR-1 nickel bridge and tailpiece hold tune very well indeed. The serial number A33479 dates this, amongst other things, to 1960. The guitar weighs a stunning 7.9lbs and has a tone to die for. Things to note are a well repaired headstock crack, as pictured, a refret for larger frets, crazing around the original jack plug socket, a missing dot inlay, a dent in the fretboard around the missing dot inlay, a few slightly bent original machine heads that hold tune well, and the binding damage as pictured. There is a slightly later Epiphone case coming with the guitar that has been with it for many many years, though not an original. It has the original case’s Gold Brass Gibson logo on it which makes me think that the original was broken and a newer ordered, with the original logo put on the Epiphone replacement. It is a classic late 60s Epiphone Blue Lined Casino hard case. It has kept the guitar very safe and sound throughout the years, with the bottom tolex ripped off as pictured. All latches work exceptionally well and the original handle has been carefully replaced with a DIY handle. As you can see, the guitar has not had a clean for many many years. I had the opportunity to clean it but easily decided against cleaning to keep everything as we found it, with 60 year old dust still in the cavities! Ow position side is decreasing, but still able to be played. There are scratches, paint peeling, dents, rust, and feeling of usage. Scratches, dents, paint peelings, and plating dullness are seen. Poor contact appears on jack. Nut is not fixed (the fastener can be taken, seems like it’s not damaged). Not kept in smoking environment but cigarette smell may appear due to it being an used item. Beautiful and great condition Greco SA ES335 type, Super Real Project. Made in Japan on 1980s. The sound is good, electronics work well. The frets are about 70% with no fret bumpy. Some small chips and scratches, but nothing damage the overall appearance. An old gigcase is included as well. I have sent many guitars outside and never had a problem. My packaging is very very safe!! You can trust that!! Check the pic below!! I pack very carefully and full with bubble wrap outside. Actually it will be around 160 to 180 I have to pay, but it is OK. It doesnt get much cooler than this. Here you see an original 1967 Gibson Trini Lopez es335 guitar in Custom Sparkling Burgundy finish. Custom Color models from the 60s are difficult to come by, and this guitar is in really great condition for its age. It has incredible finish lines that show up in the sun as seen in the pics. These 60s Trini Lopez models were made famous again by David Grohl, the lead man and driving force behind the Foo Fighters. I don’t do appraisals. 1987 Gibson es-335 DOT finished in gorgeous Antique Natural (Blonde) nitrocellulose lacquer in excellent condition. This is the last year of the first generation DOT reissue es-335’s equipped with the superb Shaw FAFs. The grain is super clear and t he finish has ambered beautifully. The hardware has a natural patina which looks like it stepped right out of 1958. You’d be hard pressed to find a better looking and playing semi-hollow. No issues with this beauty. Weight is 8.7 pounds. Frets are in excellent shape with plenty of life ahead. Neck is medium and extremely comfortable. It sounds incredible for blues, rock, jazz and has that intrinsic versatility that 335s are known for. Equipped with a sweet sounding set of Tim Shaw PAFs. Better than 9/10 condition and I’m being conservative. Controls work perfectly with no static or noise. Neck is straight and it plays perfectly with low, comfortable action. No buzzing or fretting out. Truss rod adjusted, pick-ups balanced, intonation set. Just set-up with new. Extremely RARE brown Gibson “Cali Girl” reissue hardshell case with smooth exterior and pink interior in excellent condition included. Protects the guitar perfectly. Latches and handle work perfectly. No cracks, No breaks, No repairs, No issues! Really clean 100% original 66 335. Peg head had a few dings. Back of the neck has multiple dings. No reairs or issues untouched soldered joints. Need to confirm the neck is 9/16. Original PUPs, pots, knob’s, tuners No RASH, typical checking. Good binding, not sure about the correct era ESS and ESS case. Looks like hell but intererior is clean and smells great. Case is strong and intact (speaker cable handle). Cosmetic issue earned it a “2” stamp on back of headstock. Only done for minute aesthetic reasons. Anything else, headstock and body took a visit to band saw. Guitar is a tad under 8 pounds. Please ask ALL questions first.
