1989 Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman w/ OHSC! These are great guitars and this one is no exception. Very complete guitars with excellent specs and made very well. This particular one is pretty clean overall with some light marks here and there and one spot of wear that goes through the finish on the back and a ding on the front of the headstock. The guitar plays well and sounds great! Check the specs and you’ll see that these would be very expensive these days if made new again. They ceased production around 2000. This is the earlier model with the unique red neck inlays, ebony board, tuners with winders, etc. Comes with original hardshell case with some scuffs and marks. Some three decades after. Chet Atkins debuted his original Country Gentleman model from the Gretsch. Company, he approached Gibson with some design refinements for a new version of the legendary model. The new instrument would be shallower in depth to make it easier to hold, have wider spaced pickups to facilitate fingerstyle play, and have a lighter weight body block (the guitar itself isn’t light) to add sustain and curb feedback. A handily placed master volume knob, classic Bigsby, and generous 1 3/4 neck all ensured that the player had everything right at the fingertips. Gretsch G6122 Vintage 1967 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Electric Guitar w/ Case. All photos are of the actual item for sale. This is an original 1967 Gretsch. It is not a reproduction. It plays and sounds great. Everything functions as it should. The frets are not in too bad of shape and the electronics have minimal scratchiness when turning the knobs. It is however cosmetically challenged. It has missing and chipped binding threw out and has more scratches and dings than can be described. The hardware and metal on the guitar is also tarnished. Please see pictures for over all cosmetic condition. The case looks to be original as well and functions fine though it too has many scrapes and ding (see pics) This guitar ships to the USA only. Here is a very nice 1987 Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. This guitar is in very nice condition. The guitar plays very well and all of the electronics work. The width at the nut is 1 11/16 inches. The guitar comes with the original hardcase. A helpful person contacted Gibson and was able to tell me that this guitar started out with a Wine Red finish so it has been refinished to this red color. Also the pickups in this guitar are TV Jones models. Please also see the other guitars that are listed this week, there are 2 special Gibson Super 400’s and a Standel 25L15 amp. Please ask any questions. The width at the nut is 1 3/4 inches. NOT 1 11/16 inches as listed. Sorry for the mixup.
