An extremely rare guitar, I found this one in Germany a while back. This was Artur’s top model, the Deluxe, featuring the engraved steel head cover. He was called the D’Angelico of Germany and when you see and play his guitars, you’ll see why. This is an amazing 65? Year old guitar that I snagged from a collection. As you can see, the guitar is in incredible shape. Artur used side binding strips to strengthen the sides. He used several new ideas including a laminated nut, new design “f” holes, and special intonation bridge. He didn’t like truss rods as he felt they imparted a sound he didn’t want and only used a few rods in the 60’s. He also hand carved his tops to a thicker depth than most other luthiers by 1 or 2 millimeters for a different richer sound. Comes with the original green lined hard shell case. Palmer Gun Guitar 6 Strings Matte Black 22 frets Grover machine heads (tuners) Original seriel number still intact strat type sprung bridge (no wammi bar included) gun case included as shown (riffle hard case, fits the gun guitar well and protects it) Circa late 70’s reasonably low action, easy to play Raw gutsey pick-up sound (suitable for late 70’s rock sound, or bluesey and toneful on a clean tone) the shape makes it easy to reach higher frets very well balanced and comfortable to play sitting down or standing frets are level, neck is straight standard tuning, 9-42 guage strings (gold plated strings by optima) although would easily cope with different tunings. This guitar has a very strong and well made neck that is easily adjustable. Neck in perfect order, firmly bolted to the body electrics in full working order Pick-up selector switch looks like a trigger! Paint chips would be easy to touch up, but it suits its naturally road worn look, so I have left it as it is. Please use the images to judge the condition for yourself. Another Ebayer advised me that this is a late 1970’s model Carvin DC150 Stereo Guitar. I have had it as early 1980’s as Carvin serial numbers are difficult to tie down for sure, but what I have found is that this falls into the late 70’s range of numbers. This guitar has been played but is in excellent overall condition. Some slight playwear on fret board you can see in the photos. Nice birds eye maple fret board. Minor play wear and small dings as expected for this old of an instrument. Other than that, great shape. Includes original Carvin hard shell case in good condition. Ive lowered myself to being a Bass player ,, Strings tensioners have been modified to fit a straight edge screw driver , much better than using a small allen wrench – Still a great guitar!!
