Scroll down to see 55 Hi Resolution images and pictures inside this guitar Here’s a 2011 Gibson Midtown Custom in a factory original gloss black finish. The guitar is in good condition with no headstock cracks or repairs. She’s 8.2 lbs on a digital scale. The pickups are the original Gibson humbuckers – tuners are locking Sperzels. The top is pretty clean and glossy, just small, clear coat micro scratches as are common on gloss black finishes. The back has about the same – nothing major. It has just been detailed. The fingerboard was cleaned, buffed and moisturized with an instrument grade lemon oil. It was set up with 10/46’s, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics were tested and they work well. The Midtown model is sized similarly to the ES-339 model, which is smaller than an ES-335 but slightly larger than a Les Paul. The Midtown Custom features a chambered mahogany body and a maple top. Unlike some of Gibsons other semi-hollow guitars, the Midtown features all solid woods rather than laminated woods. The guitar also features two 57 Classic pickups, which are some of my favorite pickups in Gibson semi-hollow body guitars. The neck is bound and has a thinner 60s carve.
