1960s Mosrite COMBO Signed By The Ventures W/Ohsc. This guitar is in great condition for the age. Very little playwear over the years. Maybe a couple of light scratches here and there. The pick card has been signed by the ventures. But we are including a second pet guard with the guitar that is not signed. Everything works as it should 100% original.

The vintage example this is modeled after was made famous by Kurt Cobain who owned one of only two Gospels claimed to be built in the 1960’s. I’m the second owner of this guitar. This beautiful, well built, and extremely rare reissue guitar is in excellent all around condition. It was built at Mosrite Of Classics of Japan. All of the electronics work perfectly. Tone and volume pots roll without any pops or scratchiness. 3-way switch works without any pops or scratchiness. Both pickups sound wonderful and really portray the vintage, Mosrite single coil tones. Tuners also turn very easily without any hangups. Frets are in excellent condition with little to no wear (even in the first position). There are various dings, scuffs, and scratches throughout the guitar. I took quite a few pictures to show the more severe defects, but, here are some of them explained. Small dent (looks to be from manufacturing as it’s under the finish) between the tailpiece and the butt strap button. A finish crack can be seen below the neck pocket. Starts from the corner of neck pocket and moves towards and ends between neck pocket and upper horn. There are miscellaneous surface scuffs and scratches, more of them towards the lower end of the guitar near the butt strap button. LOTS OF PICS BELOW – CHECK THEM ALL OUT. Here’s an early’66 Mosrite Ventures (Mark V I believe). The fella I got it from told me he bought it in 1974. I’m not an expert on the Mosrites, so took many pics. Everything works well, the action is good, and it plays and sounds great. It has quite a few dings, dents and scratches, and typical lacquer checking. There’s a crack in pickguard. It was missing one tuner when I got it. I replaced the tuners with modern Klusons (correct type with safety post). The remaining original 5 tuners are included – one of them has a bent shaft, but they all worked. The pickguard is cracked clear through, but the screws hold both pieces down fine. Truss rod is fine. First few frets have a little wear, but not enough to cause problems. The fretboard wood grain is not real smooth – especially down by the serial number, but again, nothing that seems to cause any playing issues. The tremolo arm appears bent a bit. Serial number is 3464 (the last digit is hard to read). Neck date Jan 6, 1966 and body dated March 8, 1966. Original case has a rope for the handle, and typical wear. Hinges and latches all good.
