This amazing instrument features a mahogany body with flamed maple top, a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays, Grover tuners, gold hardware and a set of Gibson 496R and 500T humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. It’s in great, used condition for its age, with buckle rash, dings, dents and a few marks throughout. The frets show only very light wear and all hardware and electronics function perfectly. The original Gibson wiring was professionally replaced with an original, Jimmy Page wiring setup and it ships in its original case with the original paperwork! Ich verkaufe meine limitierte Fender Telecaster Custom Shop USA aus 1993 – die Nummer 4 aus nur 20 gebauten Exemplaren- aus der legendären John Page Ära! John Page – der auch das Zertifikat meiner Gitarre noch persönlich unterschrieben hat, war 1993 Leiter des Fender Custom Shop und umgeben von seiner damals noch überschaubaren Truppe von Masterbuildern. Eine Custom Shop aus dieser Zeit ist etwas besonderes und eine Gitarre aus einer Auflage von 20 Stück mehr als rar und selten zu finden. Die Fender Telecaster – in erster Linie bekannt durch ihren Einsatz bei unzähligen Rockgrössen wie Keith Richards von den Stones – ist ein Klassiker. Wer zudem noch eine gut eingespielte, superseltene Version des Custom Shop besitzen möchte, ist hier richtig. Body-Material: Erle mit Riegelahorndecke. Die Telecaster war ursprünglich komplett mit Gold-Hardware versehen. Erfahrungsgemäß sehen Goldauflagen aber nach geraumer Zeit sehr abgegriffen aus. Daher wurde die meiste Hardware während des zusätzlichen Anbaus des Bigsby Tele Vibrato Kits B5 gleichzeitig gegen entsprechende Chromteile ausgetauscht. Die originale goldene Halsbefestigungsplatte (wegen der Authentizität) und die beiden goldenen Dome-Knöpfe (zu sehen auf den Fotos) wurden vor kurzem durch Fender Chromteile ersetzt. Sie werden aber der Gitarre natürlich beigelegt. An der Telecaster wurde außerdem folgende Dinge gegen wesentlich wertigere Varianten zur weiteren Verbesserung des Klanges ausgetauscht. Die Standardmechaniken wurden durch extrem stimmstabile Locking Tuners Modell Kluson M6VLC Magnum Lock ersetzt. Die gesamte serienmäßige Elektronik wurde durch das wesentlich besser klingende Emerson Custom Prewired Kit ersetzt. Die zuvor verbauten Seymour Duncan PickUps mussten den wohl weltweit besten handgefertigten Pickups der Firma Joe Barden, Modell: Danny Gatton weichen. The Boss – Bruce Springsteen nutzt diese an seiner Telecaster ebenfalls. Die Telecaster war danach noch besser als eh schon zuvor! Bis auf wenige Dings, die nun mal bei einer 28 jährigen Gitarre unvermeidbar sind, ist der optische Zustand außerordentlich gut. Leichte Patina machen die Gitarre um so ehrlicher! Edwin Wilson from the Gibson Custom Shop and a few others from Gibson went to England to examine Jimmy’s #1. Another representative of Gibson was the primary contact with Jimmy and was the fellow who brought the 30 Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul’Number One’ to England for Jimmy to play and examine. With respect to the wiring, Edwin actually examined the wiring of Jimmy’s guitar and put a meter on it. The pickups in Jimmy’s actual vintage number one are definitely out of phase in the middle position, and the switch is definitely a coil tap. So the reissues are wired and make sounds just like Jimmy’s guitar as it currently resides in his possession. Gibson sent 30 guitars to Jimmy because they didn’t want to be presumptuous by sending just 25 of them and not allowing for any rejections. In fact, after playing the guitars, Jimmy was hard pressed to “reject” any of them. There were a few (like the guitar he kept) that just felt and sounded a little bit better to him, but he really was blown away by all of them. The Custom Shop had gone over each guitar with a fine tooth comb before sending them. Jimmy had originally planned to spend just a few hours with the guitars, but actually ended up playing them and inspecting them for almost six hours. Edwin only had 45 minutes with the guitar, in one of Jimmy’s mansions, with Jimmy watching everything. Edwin didn’t get to weigh the guitar, or pull pickups out of the guitar, etc. He basically was allowed to take some pictures, measure and take a mold of the neck, and look in the control cavity with a meter. With the limited time and information, plus two prototypes subsequently sent to Jimmy for early feedback, they tried in earnest to duplicate a close replica honoring Jimmy’s number one. Scroll down to see 45 HD images of this guitar Here’s a 1997 Gibson Les Paul Standard Jimmy Page Signature Model in a factory original Honeyburst flame top finish. This guitar is in very good condition. The top is glossy and clean but does have some light scratches and some light indents below the bridge and tailpiece – there’s a few small dings on the back edge as shown in photos – scroll down to see 55 more HD images. All the electronics work perfectly. The neck is straight and the frets are in very good condition. The pickups and pots are all original and it sounds really nice. It has just been detailed. The front, back, sides and neck were waxed and buffed with a high grade carnuba wax. The frets were polished and the fingerboard was cleaned, buffed and moisturized with an instrument grade lemon oil. It was set up with 10/46’s, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics work well. She has a slim 60’s neck profile and weighs 10.6 lbs. Comes with the original Gibson Jimmy Page Signature hardshell case, clear plastic control overlay and paperwork as seen in the pictures. It plays extremely well and sounds phenomenal! Through a clean amp it has an elegant and crisp sound and if you add a little bit of crunch to it you get an awesome rock tone! It’s in overall excellent condition, it has a few scratches on the top towards the back end. The neck of Page’s guitar is thick at the nut and at the neck heel, like a typical 1959 Les Paul, but it tapers to a super-slim depth in the middle. It was that way when Page acquired it, and he hasn’t changed it. He did make two other modifications: He put a push/pull pot in the rear volume control that reverses the phase, in order to get a tone like Peter Green or B.
