1959 Hofner President Natural Blonde. This is a vintage 1959 Hofner President electric guitar in Excellent condition. The President was Hofners top of the line archtop and was distributed in Great Britain by Selmer from France. George Harrison played one when he joined the Beatles. Carved spruce top and laminated maple back and sides. Binding on the body and neck, inside the f-holes and on the headstock. One non original tuner bushing. 2 original black bakelite adjustable pickups and original knobs and switches. The neck is straight and the frets are in excellent condition. The electronics all work well. Judging by the small holes that were drilled in the top, there have been some modifications that were later removed. Some wear near the knobs and under the compensator tailpiece. Other than that this guitar is in excellent condition for its age. The width at the nut is 1 11/16″ and the scale lenght is 25.4″. Vintage 1960 Hofner President Acoustic Archtop Brunette Hollow Guitar w/ Case. 60’s Hofner goodness with incredibly fine 5 piece slightly flamed maple/mahogany laminated neck. Weight: 4.4 lbs. Serial: 6319 (or equivalent, as the serial is slightly scratched). This guitar has been checked over and restrung, where necessary, to make it a playable standard.
