Gibson 1959 Les Paul Reissue Guitar R9 “2007” Murphy Aged-Custom Shop-Cali Case! It is a really nice playing guitar with perfect action, a great set-up and Man, she sounds Huge! Bathroom scale says 9 lbs. It’s a custom shop guitar that was aged by Tom Murphy- His ability to make a guitar finish look old is absolutely amazing- His signature along with Gibson’s general manager and Edwin Wilson of the custom shop are all Printed on the COA-Not their actual pen & ink signatures, Signature reproductions printed by the printing press… There are some dings here and there that I believe were caused later by real world use- Notably a couple fairly deep impression dings on the back, a noticeable ding, paint chip out along the back edge and one little paint chip-out on the front… Hard to know where murphy aging stops and real aging starts… There are no structural issues whatsoever; no breaks, repairs, etc… The guitar comes in the original Cali-case with the custom shop certificate and a bunch of case candy- I actually didn’t include a couple more things in the case candy photo- A strings hang tag and the envelope with the case keys… Why there’s even a fancy Gibson Custom cord that’s never been used….
