Die Aria Les Paul Custom Tree of Life ist eine der seltensten, aber auch eine wertigsten Gitarren dieser Marke, wurde sie doch auf einem sehr hohen Verarbeitungsniveau zu einer Zeit hergestellt, als Made in Japan-Gitarren noch keine geleimten Hälse hatten, nach meiner Information im Jahre 1975. Sie wurde bei Matsumoko hergestellt, eines der ersten Meisterstücke dieser Firma. Der Vergleich mit der ebenfalls seltenen und auch sehr wertigen Ibanez Custom Agent drängt sich auf, auch eine Gitarre auf allerhöchstem Verarbeitungsniveau, bei welcher die Japaner erstmals jede erdenkliche Mühe angewandt haben, um zu zeigen, dass Gitarren in absoluter Top-Qualität aus Japan kommen. Wer wie ich sowohl eine Custom Agent als auch die Gibson Exemplare dieser Zeit kennt, der weiß, dass die ungleich besser hergestellten Exemplare aus Japan kamen, wenn man diese sehr früh hergestellten Topmodelle betrachtet. Gleiches gilt auch für die hier inserierte Gitarre, der man bereits aufgrund des eher frühen Aria-Schriftzuges ansehen kann, dass sie nicht 1977 oder später gebaut wurde, sondern früher, als geleimte Hälse für Gitarren aus Fernost ein Novum waren. Die Gitarre besticht nicht nur durch ihre Seltenheit und beste Verarbeitung, sondern auch durch einen annähernd einmalig schönen Zustand. Der Hals ist bestens gerade, es gibt keine abgenutzten Bünde, eine Gitarre, die für den Aria-Sammler und für alle Sammler dieser Epoche im Idealzustand ist, Abnutzungen sind trotz der über 40 Jahre nicht zu erkennen. Wer sich über die beiden Pickups wundern sollte – sie sind wie alles andere an der Gitarre so original und eine bei Aria in dieser und späterer Zeit häufig gewählte Kombination. Zu der Gitarre gehört der für diese Zeit typische Originalkoffer, sowohl Aria wie auch Ibanez haben erst zu späterer Zeit ihre Energie darauf verwendet, eigene Koffertypen zu bauen. Ich denke, dass diese Gitarre auf längere Sicht auch als Wertanlage gut geeignet ist, denn die Erfahrung zeigt, dass sehr seltenes im allerbesten Zustand immer gesucht ist. Die Gitarre wird dem Wert entsprechend aufwändig verpackt und per DHL entsprechend höher versichert versandt, daraus ergeben sich die etwas höheren Versandkosten. Ich verkaufe hier eine der schönsten japanischen Les Pauls und auch eine derjenigen, die als erste japanische Gitarren über einen eingeleimten Hals verfügten. Es handelt sich um ein sehr schönes Sammlerstück und auch eine sehr gute Playergitarre, allerdings mit einem gravierenden Nachteil: Sie hatte vor längerer Zeit einen Halsbruch, der zwar hinlänglich, aber eben nicht professionell repariert wurde. Mir als Aria-Sammler ist diese feine Gitarre die Treppe auf dem schnellsten Weg heruntergegangen und der sie repariert hat, hat das meines Erachtens nicht gut gemacht. Zwar ist auf der Rückseite des Halses – entgegen der Optik – kaum etwas zu fühlen, aber es sieht nicht schön aus, was allerdings zum großen Teil auch daran liegen mag, dass nichts lackiert wurde. Trotz des genannten und auf den Bildern zu sehenden optischen Mangels hat die Gitarre eine gute Saitenlage, keinerlei Stimmprobleme und lässt sich super spielen mit einem sehr guten Klang. Man hat hier ähnlich wie bei der Ibanez Custom Agent das absolute Topmodell aller damaligen Les Pauls von Aria in der Hand und das spürt man natürlich an vielen Kleinigkeiten, insbesondere auch der wunderbaren Bundverarbeitung, dem Finish, den damals handgemachten Einlagen aus perlmutt im Griffbrett. Dennoch möchte ich die Gitarre hier vorsichtshalber als defekt einstellen. Wer einmal die vielen neuwertigen Originalteile aus damaliger Zeit durchrechnet, wird auf einen Preis kommen, der weit über dem zahlreicher anderer Les Pauls, die heute allgemein angeboten werden, liegt. Vielleicht macht es auch Sinn, an dieser Gitarre weiterzuarbeiten, um ein wirklich schönes Stück zu haben. Ich habe als Sammler der Marke Aria auch noch eine weitere perfekte Gitarre im allerbesten Zustand des gleichen Exemplars zur Verfügung, auch sie werde ich evtl abgeben. Jedenfalls habe ich einen guten Vergleich mit den beiden Gitarren, sie spielen sich gleich und klingen gleich, allein die Optik auf der Rückseite des Halses dieser Gitarre ist anders. Einige kleinere Abschürfungen an den Kanten der Gitarre sind vorhanden, was nach einer Zeit von über 40 Jahren nicht ausbleibt. Dies ist weitgehend fotografiert. Dennoch ist die Gitarre von vorn als auch von hinten im wesentlichen schön anzusehen. Die Elektrik ist top in Ordnung. Die Gitarre wird allerbestens verpackt und mit sehr viel Polsterung und dem abgebildeten gepolsterten Vintage-Gigbag verkauft. Wie immer von privat keine Garantie oder Rücknahme.
