Condition: Good – very good. Weight on my scale: about 7 pounds. Case: Non-Original, Generic Hardshell. This is an original 1967 Gibson SG Special THIS IS THE SAME VERSION OF THE SG THAT PETE TOWNSHEND PLAYED THROUGHOUT THE LATE 60S AND EARLY 70S, WHICH HAS BEEN REISSUED BY GIBSON. PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY; THERE IS A LOT OF DETAIL ABOUT THIS GUITAR, AND WHY YOU CAN GET THIS GENUINE 1967 SG SPECIAL FOR BASICALLY THE SAME PRICE AS A REISSUE AND HALF OR LESS OF WHAT A REAL ONE IN PERFECT CONDITION WOULD BE. It has been used extensively in my studio for recording projects, but I have several guitars with P-90s so this one needs to move on to someone who will put it to more use! When I got this guitar, it had been modified quite a bit. There was also some cracking around the input jack where it looked like a straight cable had been plugged in and knocked (not uncommon on these this is why I always try to use right-angle plugs on these NOTE IT WAS CRACKED BUT NOT BROKEN OUT). I searched and found as many original parts as I could find, to try to get this guitar as close to original as possible. I put in a pair of P-90s made for me by Willie Houston of Rocket Pickups in Seattle. I have his pickups in many of my guitars, and love them! As I mentioned, they are under original covers. I also replaced the truss-rod cover with one that is closer to original it is a real 70s or 80s one marked SG. The tuning keys are, as I mentioned, original Klusons, but they have been installed with oversize conversion bushings because the holes have been enlarged to accommodate the Schallers that were on it when I got it. Also note that the tuners that were originally on this guitar were not Klusons, but were a type that Gibson used in 1967 on some instruments that looked more like cheap classical tuners, with metal buttons. You can see the outline in one of the pictures from the plate on which the original tuners were mounted. I got Klusons because they were also correct for 1967, they are better-looking, they work better, and they are easier to find. So, to recap, the only parts that are not correct original parts are the tuner bushings, the truss-rod cover, the pickups, the strap buttons (Schaller-type straplocks), and the vibrato arm; everything else is correct. Structurally, the only issues are the tuner holes have been enlarged and there are a few extra holes from the screws for the Schallers (covered by the plates on the Klusons), There is a filled hole from the micro switch, and repair around the jack. There have been no other repairs no broken headstock or anything structural. THE NECK IS STRAIGHT AND THE TRUSS-ROD IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND HAS A LOT OF ADJUSTMENT LEFT (see pic). The finish is in good shape; a good bit of honest playing wear most of which is on the back where there was a sticker that I removed to reveal a fair amount of buckle rash. No need to relic; its already been done for you naturally! I have tried to give all the detail I can think about for this great guitar, but as always, please feel free to ask questions! Hey Everyone, I have decided to sell my 1995 Jimmy Page Signature Guitar. This is the earlier version of the guitar with the rounded tuners and different burst. The guitar is in good condition but has been played and has a few marks on it. I have tried my best to show all of them in the pictures but please do as if you need any more photos. I got the guitar from the original owner and I have the hang tag and a letter from Gibson and other paperwork that comes with the guitar. The construction of the guitar is really high. For me it feels very similar to the recent Gibson historic series. It does not feel like a modern Les Paul to me. The neck is not too fat but not slim like a 1960s neck. The neck is straight and the frets play nicely. It sounds fantastic through my tube and solid state amps. The guitar comes with its Jimmy Page Signature case. You can see that the original pick guard with Jimmys signature is in the case and has not been played. It has a new set of Ernie Ball strings (Jimmy Page gauge 9-42) and a few Herco nylon picks.
