Westone Thunder IIA guitar. Made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan in 1981 this is a rare model – the. Thunder IIA electric guitar, and is Version one of this model. The body is made from Canadian ash, maple and walnut with a set five piece. Neck also of ash, maple and walnut. The finish of the body is Sunset Red which. Is possibly the best colour of all, showing lovely graining, and the front of the. The pickups are cream with cream surrounds and are Magnet F530 pickups. Operated by master volume, tone and equaliser volume, plus a three-way. Also there are phase, coiltap and active on/off micro. This is an active/passive guitar and the active side is operated by. 1984 Westone Electra Dynasty V Style PROJECT Guitar, Vintage Matsumoku, Japan
This is a Westone Electra “Dynasty” guitar (version 1) from the Matsumoku, Japan factory, circa 1984. It’s in great shape – aside from some buckle rash and a surface scratch on the rear (pic 11), the “gunmetal gray” finish shows only very minor wear. There are no chips anywhere, the tips look very good, the front is excellent. The neck is straight, the truss rod works well, the finish is excellent. I tried to photograph the fretwear on the upper frets (pic 8/9), they don’t look like they’ve been dressed but this is thin, vintage style wire and there’s not a whole lot to work with. The hardware and electronics are fully functional, the hardware shows some surface wear. All 3 pots are push/pull for coil tapping. All that’s missing are the pickups and a set of strings.
