WE LOVE TO TRADE! A rare and super limited production Fender Telecaster Masterbuilt by Dale Wilson and based on Sheryl Crow’s 1959 Tele. The Hard Rock Maple neck features an extremely comfortable late 50s profile as well as light aging to recreate the comfort of a classic, road-worn instrument. With handwound Masterbuilt pickups, the tone is spectacular and full of that iconic, vintage vibe – fat midrange, tight bass, and sparkling highs that never get shrill or sound thin. It is a true piece of Custom Shop artistry! In order to faithfully recreate Sheryl’s prized’59 Tele, the instrument was brought to the Fender Custom Shop, where each aspect of the guitar down to the smallest, most minute details were studied thoroughly and applied to this accurate replication. As a matter of fact, the recreation of her original’59 Tele is so flawless that even Crow herself mistook the first replica for the original, and that first replica has been her main instrument every since while the original’59 went home. 59 was the first year for the release of the Custom Telecaster, a later version of Fender’s coveted Telecaster that became a classic. Holding true to the original, the body of the Limited Edition Sheryl Crow 1959 Custom Telecaster Relic is double-bound (just as the original) and crafted from hand-selected lightweight Alder, sporting a lightly relic’d three color sunburst finish. The maple neck is carved into a comfortable mid’60s oval C profile with slight wear along the back, and is topped of with a rosewood fingerboard and vintage frets for true vintage feel and playability. As far as electronics goes, this Sheryl Crow’59 Custom Tele comes loaded with a set of vintage’63 Tele pickups controlled by a 3-way selector and single volume and tone control. This’59 Tele also comes equipped a vintage 3-saddle Tele bridge and vintage style tuning machines. A limited run of only 60 Limited Edition Sheryl Crow 1959 Custom Telecasters have been made, one of which was signed by Crow (a survivor of breast cancer herself) and donated to the Nation Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2012.
