Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to view my listing. I’ve owned this 1978 Stratocaster for several years now. It has been cared for all of it’s life, but it has been played and loved. This guitar has one of the nicest original finishes that I’ve ever seen. The body and neck is exceptional with only a few imperfections. The frets are very good and original, but around the first five frets have some minor wear. This in commonly called the “cowboy chord” area and thats the only area where fret wear can be noticed. This minor wear doesn’t affect chording, nor is it even noticeable by me while playing the guitar. For a “CBS era” guitar, this one is very surprising. Its not heavy like most and actually produces glorious tone in every position of the selector switch. It does have the factory 5 way switch that was included in the box when original. This guitar is completely original and hasn’t been altered in any way that I can see. I can’t foresee any way that the new owner could be disappointed. It has a nice beefy neck that allows the body to resonate and produce really nice sustain and with the selector switch in the neck position, this guitar has that highly desirable bluesy tone that is hard to find on a lot of instruments. Please take your time and view all of the pictures that I’ve listed. This guitar really means a lot to me and I hope it finds a new home that loves it as much as I have. Here are the pics. Thanks so much for looking and I look forward to answering any questions that you might have. I hope this guitar means as much to the next owner as it does me. You are welcome to make a reasonable offer and any reasonable offer will be considered. Thanks, good luck, and God bless. I also know that this guitar is all original. It has not been modified in any way, shape, or form. The neck has no warping, twisting, or bends of any kind that isn’t supposed to be there. The truss rod works just as it should and isn’t locked up or too loose. I’ll weigh it for an exact weight figure shortly as well. That seems to be the question that has been asked the most. This guitar isn’t a heavy instrument like a lot of the Strats from the 70s. Check back later tonight for an update with the actual weight. Thank you all so much and I look forward to her finding a new home. I finally had an opportunity to weigh this guitar. It weighs 8.8lbs, which isn’t bad at all for a CBS era Strat. I’ve seen CBS era Strats with a natural finish weigh over 10lbs, so 8.8lbs is excellent for a mid 70s Stratocaster. Thank you all for taking the time to look at my guitar. I was playing the guitar and decided to go over the body a little closer. There is a dent/nick at the bottom heel that is about 3/4s of an inch long. The paint isn’t missing which is why I accidentally overlooked it. The guitar is still what I would consider phenomenal. I just want to be as honest and upfront as possible. Which is what my reserve is set at. Thank you all in advance. You won’t be disappointed in her.
