Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Elegant – 1998 model. Gibson Les Paul Elegant in Peacock finish with flame maple top. This 1998 – 20 year old Elegant is in great condition. If you hold the back up to the light you can tell there are no marks on it (mahogany) – so no one has put a strap on this guitar. There is a very minor blemish in the top but you would need to get your microscope out to see it. This is a chambered Les Paul and an early example of this process – so on top of sounding smooth with great sustain (Classic 57`s) it is not heavy (approx just over 8lbs). Although I like Les Pauls and have owned many – I really can`t play them as they just feel wrong to me. However I was very surprised that this Elegant felt so easy to play. Most likely the best Les Paul I have played in a long time. This is a one owner since new guitar and has hardly been played. The abolone inlays look fantastic in the ebony board and I love the headstock inlay (although that is personal taste). This guitar comes with Grover kidney button machines fitted as standard.
