This listing is for a beautiful, and extremely rare, Gibson Joe Perry BoneYard Les Paul Standard. Most of these are in private collections so here’s your chance to grab one with an incredible book matched AAAAA type curly maple flametop. The guitar has VOS finished aged nickle hardware and factory Gibson Patent Applied For / PAF type BurstBucker pickups with Gibson Kluson style tuners. Gibson only made 500 of these Limited Edition guitars in 2004 and 2005 and two of those were a Prototype. Almost of these guitars are in private collections so you’ll rarely see one for sale, especially in this condition and with a Killer AAAAA type flametop like this. Like a lot of the older Custom Shop guitars, the COA for this one was misplaced a few years ago. However, we’ll also include a blank Custom Shop COA Certificate Of Authenticity. You’ll have the option to fill in the model number and serial numbers. Mainly, we noticed the AAAA type flametop was exceptional, and it’s more of a black and tan color, rather than the “greenish” tint that almost all of these tops have. Also notice, the inlays, are cream / pearl colored and they are not green, like almost all of the other Boneyard Les Pauls. The Gibson rep carefuly looked over all of the pictures and details etc and he sent us a very nice reply. ,, We do have a record of this Joe Perry Les Paul, it was made in 2005. We recently had our luthier check the guitar out and he was very impressed. He’s been an Authorized Gibson Repair Tech for over 15 years and a luthier for over 35 years. In that time he has worked on thousands of guitars including hundreds of Les Pauls and a Martin for Eric Clapton as well as the vintage Martin that Willie Nelson owns. The guitar has been played very little and it really is, in exceptional condition, especially for being fifteen years old. It still looks great and is in excellent to near mint condition. The back, the frets, the fretboard, the neck and the headstock (front and back) are all very clean, and in excellent to near mint condition. There’s a lock on the side of the case so you can secure the guitar while it’s being stored or transported and the key is included. The case has some scuffs. Otherwise, it’s in great shape. All of the hardware is in place, and everything works properly, including the hasps, hinges, metal ball feet, strap lid and handle. The plush crushed velvet burgundy interior is super clean and in excellent condition. The accessory pocket is intact as well as the lid for it and the small pull tab. The Custom Shop care pack bag contains the following items. Some Gibson factory original literature. Some factory hang tags. An new Gibson Custom Shop 1/4 cord. A new Gibson Custom Shop cleaning cloth. A Gibson Custom Shop truss rod tool. Some new Gibson Custom Shop picks. The original key for the lock. The 2 oz silica gel pack. Collectable Guitars are like Collectable Classic Cars and the cleaner they are, the more they’re worth. I’d certainly rather have a nice clean 1957 Chevy Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible (or a near mint R4 R5 R6 R7 R8 R9 R0 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 1954 1955 1956 1957 1958 1959 1960 Les Paul Standard or Custom) than an “aged one” any day. The Joe Perry BoneYard les Paul was one the crown jewels for Gibson that year. And since it was one of the flagship guitars for Gibson, the Custom Shop handpicked the AAAAA bookmatched highly figured maple flame tops on these. This is one of the most highly sought after Les Paul models and these guitars are going up rapidly in value, so it’s also a great investment. We rarely get in Joe Perry Boneyard Les Pauls, especially with a killer flame top like this one. And that’s not to mention all of the factory original extras, like this guitar has.
