Up for sale is an 1989 Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite in black. The bad news is that the Steinberger tremolo suffered the bent post syndrome. The good news is it’s been repaired properly with larger machined stainless steel studs that are threaded into the base plate of the trem and then sunk into the body three quarters of an inch. They have not and will not move now and total use has been restored. I beat on the trem pretty well and it stays in tune. The lock mechanism works great. The guitar is in 100% working condition. The neck is totally straight and truss rod functions as it should. The frets are in great. Shape showing minor wear. The finish is very clean and glossy with a few marks. The worst are some dimples near the input jack. An interesting detail about this guitar is that the body is made from two slabs of mahogany and maple that are equal thicknesses sandwiched together. The maple is on the top as you would expect. The neck is solid mahogany. No breaks, cracks or repairs to the wood anywhere. Electronics are excellent sounding and unique. A trem arm included but it’s not original. It fits tight and works great. The locking nut inserts were lost and replaced with newer inserts that needed to be ground down a little since these narrow ones are tough to come by. One fine tuning/lock screw is a replacement and looks a little different than the rest. I have some cases available if interested. Otherwise it will be packed very well with strings slackened.
