1995 Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro Elite SSH Guitar. The company he founded in the 1990s, Patrick Eggle Guitars, first based in Coventry and then in Birmingham, is known for designing and releasing such guitar ranges as the Berlin (1991) and the Fret King Espirit (1998). The company was producing 2,000 electric and acoustic guitars per year by the mid-1990s. Eggles guitars have been used by artists such as Tony Iommi, Brian May, Bruce Watson, Bill Nelson, Midge Ure, Tony Remy, Oliver Leiber, and Ali and Robin Campbell. Eggle left the company in 1994, and moved to the USA to begin trading independently building acoustic and archtop guitars. Notable artists of these guitars include guitarists such as Jake Bugg and Frank Turner. Turner played his custom made PJE guitar during his performance at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The Blue Book Says. The Berlin model was voted the Making Music British Guitar of the Year award in 1995. Each model is hand-carved and a limited edition of just 10 of each variation. Offset double cutaway mahogany body, carved figured maple top, mahogany neck, 22-fret ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlay, tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece, body matching tailpiece, 3-per-side locking Sperzel tuners. Chrome hardware, 2 humbucker Eggle pickups. 3-position switch, available in Antique Gold, Bahamian Blue, Burgundy Burst, Chardonnay Rouge, Chardonnay Rouge Burst, Cherry, Cherry Burst, Deep Sea Blue, Emerald Isle Blue, Pink Glow, Pink Glow Burst, Purple Haze, Tobacco Burst. Or Walnut finish, disc. Wow really surprised by this the build quality and tonality are fantastic. The headstock shows some signs of use a few minor chips and dents. The neck seems pretty un marked Ebony fingerboard and wide low frets show little if any signs of wear. The body has one major ding on the rear upper bass bout (pictured), the front has a few minor chips, but nothing too unsightly. The Wilkinson V100 trem is great and has the locking trem included. It sounds great, looks great, and rivals any of the PRS, Fender and Gibson guitars Ive had for tone and playability. _gsrx_vers_841 GS 7.0.16 (841).
