1964 Fender Telecaster Mahogany Transparent Red with Case Rare
Mays Music in 1965 , the original receipt was at one time in the case but has been misplaced somehow(I will keep looking). The case has a plaque that displays the name of the shop. After some research , and a consultation with a local guitar guru. I have found the wood to be mahogany. Is quite rare in 1964-65. Even more rare is the transparent red finish. Which was only on some mahogany built guitars. Included is a article about this guitar, complete with illustrations. It’s not in mint condition , but still very well cared for its age. Has some buckle marks and scuffs here and there. It has the bridge cover ashtray also. The sound quality of this guitar is great , lows are deep and resonating , nice twangy tele highs. No static in the controls. Sound is clear and bright. It plays wonderfully snappy with the lightest of touch. Fingers seem to dance on the frets as melodies unfold… It’s quite light in my opinion, about. On my bathroom scale. She plays incredibly all the way up the fretboard. The frets are not worn very much , probably because the guitar was mainly used in the studio, and at home for some various works. Guitar has seen some chops and has the right stuff for any style of play! If you’d like any more pictures or additional information, please contact me. Thanks for stopping by to check out my guitar!
