Killer Flame Top & Finish. LES PAUL POWER & LOOKS THAT KILL. TOP SHELF GIBSON HISTORIC LES PAUL R0. Here’s an Awesome guitar that’s got all of the goods featuring an insane 5AAAAA flame top & Killer Cool Gibson Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish. This is the kind of great Mid 1990’s Gibson Historic Les Paul “flame thrower” that put the Gibson’s Historic Division guitars on the maps of every Les Paul player & collector more than 20 years ago. This Beauty is from my personal guitar collection & my 1st ever offering of this Killer 1996 Historic Division 1960 Les Paul reissue, serial #0 6001. Undoubtedly this Beauty is a Top Shelf example of the mid 1990’s Historic Les Paul Flame Top reissues that became known as the “Gibson Good Wood Era”. Additionally, I also own the 1996 Gibson 1960 Les Paul reissue #0 6002, a near identical twin in it’s maple flame top’s appearance to the currently offered #0 6001. I also previously owned #0 6004. All of these incredible beauties are in my all-time top 5 of all Gibson Historic Les Paul Flame throwers I have ever seen or owned!! When I saw this Beautiful guitar for the 1st time I was truly at a loss for words. I could only think, Damn-it Sammy, that’s ONE BAD A… This Beauty is the very 1st built 1996 Gibson Historic 1960 Les Paul reissue & to the best of my knowledge is #1 of only 25 total Historic 1960 Les Paul reissues built in 1996. A friendly FYI, the highest serial number I have ever seen to this date for any 1996 Gibson LPRO is #0 6023. For most Gibson Les Paul enthusiasts it should be very easy to see why this Historic Division Masterpiece was selected to be the first’96 LPR0 built & deservingly serialized # 0 6001. It has one of those amazing ” Killer Diller Mind Bender ” Maple Flame top’s that all of us Guitar Crazed Les Paul enthusiasts so rarely have seen on any Gibson guitars since t he mid to late 1990’s!! The mid to late 1990’s Gibson Historic Les Paul reissues have forever been highly thought of by Guitarist & sought after collectible LP’s by collector & investors alike and I have honestly only seen a very small number of other 1960 Historic Les Paul Flame top reissues built during this Gibson time period & beyond that have a closely comparable like Killer Flame top as this amazing jewel has!! The 1996 Gibson 1960 Les Paul reissue is an incredibly rare & seldom ever seen Gibson Historic LP model offered for sale anywhere in the world, at any time, during any given year!! And Folks, That’s An Absolute Fact!! I have pictured the guitar with the very same 5 mega pixel HP digital camera I’ve used for the last 10 years using only the factory standard settings so there is no trick photography used here nor is there ever any such photographic trickery used in any of my listings. This is the Real Deal Folks!!! The Wall to Wall, side to side flame top has some cool movement that can mesmerize the most selective of Les Paul Flame Top aficionados. As you can see in a few of the listing pics, whether outside when picturing with an overcast sky present or inside using only an overhead household light fixture & the standard auto flash setting the guitars Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish color can exhibit an exceptional similarity in color to the “Pearly Gates model LP’s”!! To play & hear this guitar through a top shelf amplifier you’ll know that ” the proof is in the pudding “. The guitars neck measurements are. 830 at the 1st fret &. 900 at the 12th fret and it has a smoothly rounded C shaped neck. The guitar weighs right at 9 lbs. Like most all great guitar’s it’s been played & exhibits a collective moderate amount of minor cosmetic wear that’s been described or pictured to the very best of my ability in the description. That said, Cosmetically the guitar remains in NO LESS THAN VERY GOOD++ CONDITION TO EXCELLENT CONDITION, DEPENDANT ON YOUR PARTICULAR GRADING STANDARDS USED FOR 20 YEAR OLD GUITARS. A majority of any cosmetic imperfections are small in size & nature. Collectively there are a moderate number of small clear coat nicks, very minor dings, impressions, indents, pick & polish finish scratches found on the guitar & most are primarily located on the guitars back side edge. I observed a few shallow rivet marks and minor indents on the back of the guitar but nothing of any genuine significance for any 20 year old guitar of this magnitude. When using auto flash to picture the noted minor imperfections some clear coat nicks & dings seen on the backside edge customarily appear as white specs in a couple of pics. Just so you’ll know some of the pics exhibiting cosmetic imperfections are of the same imperfections but I posted 2 pictures of the same minor imperfections that were taken from different angles to provide folks 2 viewing perspectives of the those very same areas. So, please be advised & know when looking at Pics 8 & 9 those pics are of the very same area, just as are pics 10 & 11. Occasionally throughout the listing I will rotate other pics in during the ongoing listing to provide all with additional pics taken from various angles. The guitar has been well maintained & cared for throughout it’s 20 year existence. Component or parts wise the guitar is not an entirely 100% factory original guitar. Despite that, relative to originality of parts & components she’s very close to being factory original in that regard as virtually all of the guitars original parts are either on the guitar at this time or are included in the sale. Any repro parts installed & any electronics upgrades are noted in the description. Here’s a list of the Upgraded aftermarket parts installed; Retrospec truss rod cover, Retrospec switch tip cover, & Retrospec Cellulose Nitrate inlays installed. Kluson double ring tuners, Tundratone electronics harness kit with CTS 500K pots & Russian Paper-in-oil capacitors installed. Strap locks are currently installed & the original factory strap buttons are included. Original parts currently installed & included in the sale are; Gibson’57 Classic pickups, Switchcraft 3-way toggle switch, Switchcraft input jack & both toggle switch & electronics control plate covers. The truss rod works perfectly & the neck is arrow straight with no cracks or repairs. Original frets are pretty darn clean for any 20 year old guitar exhibiting nothing more than a few miniscule impressions on a few wires located in the Cowboy chord area. Sale includes Gibson factory original Hang tag, and all parts noted above and a very clean excellent ++condition, “period correct” 1990’s Brown Gibson hard case with pink shroud. Give it your best shot to own this Beauty for your own Heavenly Guitar Collection & Arsenal of Serious Axes!! Don’t bother to ask!!! I can not be any clearer on this. No more, no less!! Doing so adds cost to all deliveries regardless of their final destination. Again thanks for looking and best of luck.
