This is a great player grade bass guitar and has some changed parts but plays and sounds great and is a fantastic instrument. The neck date is 1972 but the serial number falls in the 1974 range. The pickups a Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups which sound amazing. One pot in the bass is original and dates to 1974 but the other pot is more recent. The pickguard is also not original and there is a filled toggle switch hole in the pickguard. The bass has been professionally Set Up and plays and sounds really great. The neck is straight and the action is very low and comfortable. The bass was professionally Refretted recently and frets are like new frets with lots of height and life to them and make the bass play and sounds really great. The bass shows normal wear including nicks, dings and scratches. There are a lot of dings to the back of the neck and some belt buckle wear to the finish on the back of the bass. There are also some extra holes in the pickguard from someone moving the thumb rest around to various spots. One the neck dots on the 12th fret is also missing. The tuners, knobs and bridge are original. The item “Vintage 1972-1974 Fender Precision Bass Electric Bass Guitar Great Player 1970’s” is in sale since Thursday, October 29, 2015.
