Scroll down to see 55 HD Images of this guitar- pictures inside Here’s a 1962 Fender Vintage Stratocaster in a Candy Apple Red finish. The guitar has typical type of playwear for a 50+ year old guitar. Based on the markings under the pickguard, it appears to have had a factory refinish in 1966, at which time the neck may have been replaced for some reason or another. The neck plate dates to 1962 – and paint on the back of the neck plate clearly came from this body – so THAT we know is true. The body has a route for a toggle on the lower horn – see pics below. 2 of the 3 pots date to the 9th week of 1962. The 3 way switch appears original as does the cloth wiring. The wiring from the input jack appears to be newer. The pickguard is a replacement and the body has a few extra pickguard holes. The neck dates to September 13th 1966 – the decals and the finish on the neck black light as original and unmolested. The top has some finish wear along the edges, light checking and small scratches, chips and dings. The back has the same. The frets are in good condition and the neck is straight. The neck plate is serial number 75139. The pictures show everything and it’s a very nice playing/sounding and super resonant guitar. It weighs 7.9 lbs and has a very comfortable feel. It was set up, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics work well. She comes with the original looking, albeit beat up but functional Fender no logo hardshell case and bridge cover as seen in the pictures. We can declare a low value.
