Scroll down to see 55 HD Images of this guitar- pictures inside Here’s a super early 1989 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster in a factory original Black Pearl Burst finish. It’s part of a early run from the Fender Custom Shop for Guitar Center back in 1989 – not sure how many were made – not many, that’s for sure. These were built by some of Fender’s earliest master builders – Art Esparza did the body and CD Sanchez did the neck – see ink stamps in the pics below. The guitar has some average type of playwear but is in good overall condition. It has some finish scratches, small dings and a few small chips – scroll down to see 50 more detailed pics. It has a TBX tone pot added, but the rest appears original – it came factory with the Lace Sensors and the Floyd Rose. The neck serial number is E9000041 and it’s made in the USA. It has just been deep cleaned and detailed. The front, back, sides and neck were waxed and buffed with a high grade carnuba. The fingerboard was cleaned and buffed. It was set up with 10/46’s, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics work well and the trem has been calibrated. She comes with the Fender hardshell case as seen in the pictures – missing the trem arm. We can declare a low value.
