CHECK OUT OUR SUPERB FEEDBACK FOR YOURSELF! CALL FOR A HANDS ON DESCRIPTION OF ALL OF OUR INSTRUMENTS! This piece being offered was owned by the late Jim Ellison of Material Issue (Chicago, IL). We are honored to be able to list several pieces from his extensive collection. Ref# 00585: This is a stunning 1952/1957 conversion Gibson Les Paul Standard Gold Top. It has the rare 1952 UNBOUND neck and is sans serial number. Jim had this guitar set-up as a’54 with P90 pickups so when we got a hold of it, we decided to have it converted to a’57. Parts are all historically accurate. The humbuckers are from our dear friends at Echopark Instruments, their infamous prototype 1958-A Humbucking pickups found underneath the hood of Joe B’s Echopark V only. You will not believe the tone on these things. Our tech was blown away. You have our personal guarantee that you will never get a better tone than these Echopark pickups. This guitar is, by no means, a perfect 1952 or 1957 Les Paul. Jim was particular about his touring and recording guitars and each of his guitars were set-up specifically for his preferred tone & playability. We encourage you to ask any questions you have about the guitar before making an offer. This guitar comes with a Gibson Historic hardshell case and Material Issue sticker from their former label, Mercury Records. In our over 30 years of business, Customer Service has always been of the utmost importance to us.
