Cosmetically the guitar is in good to very good shape there is some worming on the back, not through to the wood, various dings and bumps none of which are major and no breaks or repairs, it is after all a vintage 38 year old instrument and it has been played, never abused obviously, played with respect for what it is. The sunburst is surprisingly fresh and deep and the single slab of mahogany very beautiful where it shows through, very tight grained and clear, head-stock is in great shape and the back of the neck looks unused, the frets are in good shape and the fret-board as well, i’m convinced these are original frets, the nibs are mostly present, see scan, and where they’re worn off it looks more like player’s wear than a re fret in any case the frets are fine. It is marked a Second, typically it’s impossible to figure out why after so many years but in this case i believe it’s for a small ding between the pickups, shown in the scan, the ding has the original finish over it so it appears to me it was done before the wood was finished and didn’t get caught until afterwards. Everything works as it should, and everything is original except the strap locks replacements which to me are an essential upgrade but the original strap buttons are in the case pocket, the guitar is well represented by the scans but please ask any questions. These are the iconic guitars rock was built on and the deluxes with the mini humbuckers are in my opinion the most versatile and unique of all the 70’s guitars made by Gibson. The neck is really wonderful with no marks on it to speak of and it is fast, it’s very smooth, the neck and the minis are my main attraction to this instrument, the weight is the only reason i’m inclined to move it on.
