1959 Les Paul Reissue (R9) made by Gibson’s Custom Art and Historic shop in 2000. R9 when Gibson included Brazilian rosewood for the fretboards. The guitar at that time was in pristine condition, sans the original pickguard, which had been signed by Warren Haynes and kept by the original owner. A new, period-correct replacement pickguard was obtained from All-Parts. The original pickups have been replaced with Bare Knuckle Pickups – the Geoff Whitehorn “Crawler” model humbuckers. The original’57 Classics are not available with this sale. There is some buckle-rash visible on the back, which does not penetrate the finish, and a 3 gouge or dent, visible as a streak on the surface of the guitar just behind the stop tailpiece, juxtaposed to the grain pattern (see pics). This surface gouge also does not penetrate the finish. Frets are in good condition; the neck is straight and truss rod works fine. The neck is beefy, not slim. The guitar weighs about 8.6 lbs.
