This one is a bit of a mystery – an ES-350 Custom body with a Super 400 style neck! The Serial Number on the white label is A13845, which dates it to 1953. There is what appears to be a small ink mark on the inside of bass side (a single number), but I can’t tell what it is or if it was part of a Factory Order Number. The tuners are stamped “Kluson Deluxe” but have no patent numbers or other markings underneith. Thera re no makings on the bridge or tailpiece either. The pickguard is a reissue. The scale length is currently 25″, but it can be brought up to 25.5″ by moving the bridge down a little bit. The width is 17″ at the lower bout and it’s about 3.75″ thick (including the rise from the arched top and back). The guitar as a whole is in very good condition. The body has no cracks and no major wear – just some checking on the binding in a few places. There is overspray on the fretboard where the neck meets the body, so it may have had a neck reset at one point and may have been partially refinished. The neck appears to be straight and the frets show very little wear. I never heard it with pickups or electronics installed, but it has a very nice sound acoustically and is in excellent playing condition.
