Fender 1963 Vintage Stratocaster – Highly Desirable Player’s Guitar. This is a real players guitar with a great set-up, easy action and spectacular Strat tone. Fender 1963 Vintage Stratocaster – Highly Desirable Playerss Guitar. Standard Sunburst Finish & Hard Shell Case! One of the greatest and most iconic sounding guitars ever produced. Pre-CBS, meaning this guitar was built before CBS bought the company from Fender founder and electric guitar design pioneer, Leo Fender. As with many guitars of this vintage the frets required replacement with. 085 size frets to keep this fine instrument in playing condition. Also 1 original red capacitor was replaced with an orange which was used from late 65 on. Having had this vital work done, the guitar remains really gig ready. We also note (and it can be seen in the photgraphs) that there are non-original solder joints on the volume pot and the three way switch. Otherwise, after thorough inspection we have determined to the best of our ability that the rest of the instrument appears to be original. Please view our detailed photography of the interior electronics and neck dates. Amazingly, despite being over 50 years old, this guitar is still ready to rock for years to come! Artists of note who played the 1963 Stratocaster include Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix. Fingerboard Material: BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD. Nut Width: 1.64. 12th Fret Width: 2.023.
