It is a 1997 USA roadhouse strat in shoreline gold with a maple fretboard, graphtec saddles, texas special pickups at the neck and centre and a kent armstrong hotrails style humbucker at the bridge, which has a push pull coil tap fitted to one of the tone knobs. The guitar comes with it’s case and the whammy bar. The case is tatty but fully funtional. The guitar was bought new by me in 1997 whilst I was working my first ever full time job at dawsons music and was my first properly nice guitar. Since then I have acquired some other lovely instruments and this isn’t getting the use anymore. The guitar has been well used (they call it roadworn these days) but it has been looked after and kept clean and the screws and hardware are all in excellent condition, with the exception of one screw on the back plate which has some very minor corrosion. The frets show some minor wear, but that is to be expected for a guitar of this age. The frets were dressed a few years ago and the guitar has not been used a huge deal since then. The neck looks amazing. The lacquer has cracked giving it that vintage vibe. One thing to point out is that the lacquer around part of the skunk stripe has cracked. It would be easy to assume this means the stripe has moved, but it hasn’t. It is a common thing with older strats and I sought the advice of the luthier who works from the back of PMT. Before listing the guitar who says this shouldn’t detract from the value and certainly isn’t something to worry about structurally. The strap peg at the thick end of the guitar has been moved a couple of mm due to the previous hole becoming damaged. It is structurally sound and is in no danger of coming loose. The guitar sounds killer and makes modern strats sound thin – Its the real deal. I will send the guitar via 24hr courier so you will have your new toy very very quickly.
