It has traveled Europe and the UK with me, being a major part of my and my bands sound over time. Due to a 180 degree change in my life I made a decision to offer it to You. Please read the entire description very carefully so you know exactly what are you looking at here. 1972 Fender Telecaster Custom, customised by People along the way. Fender 1972 Telecaster Custom neck (USA). Original 70s Bigsby Tremolo (USA). Fender Jazzmaster bridge (USA). Potentiometers, electronics, knobs and all the other parts are original of Fender Custom Shop ordered from the USA. Let me bring its history to you, or at least the part of it that I know. Back in 2011, when I was a young boy, I had a dream to own a vintage Telecaster and I found this very piece in Scotland. Didnt ask any questions when I played it at first, being far too excited, I just knew that was it, the guitar I always wanted, just felt it. When I first saw it, it came with a humbucker, Bigsby handle and the original, square telecaster bridge. The humbucker, I found, wasnt properly matched to the guitar and had a muffled sound, so decided to change it. I managed to get my hands on 1950s Gibson P90 instead at first, but the difference in outputs between pickups was too big and I was struggling with it in live situations. And he did, I mounted it, and it sounds beautiful. At first, strings kept falling off the original bridge because of Bigsby, so after doing a lot of research Ive ordered a new bridge plate and the bridge itself. Fender Jazzmaster bridge does a beautiful job mounted there, saving strings from falling off thanks to its modern design. Its easy to adjust and looks very elegant. Original electronics had to be swapped as they wouldnt work properly even after careful cleaning efforts. They have been replaced with original spec cables, pots and a switch. Full shielding has been applied along with it by a professional luthier. The neck is probably the best part of what youre looking at, and theres nothing else Ive ever played before that would be as comfortable and accurate. There are some filled holes on the headstock, but I dont know the history of theirs. Someone in the past have done some jobs with it that unfortunately didnt work out that well, but over the stretch of time theyve been fixed by a luthier. The body finish is natural, nitrocellulose, and same applies to the neck. Ive been told by one of the people who did work on it that the body and the neck were not from the same guitar, so please bear that in mind. I was trying to get in touch with the previous owner to get to know the history of this piece more, but the number is no longer working. I couldnt afford the original spec bakelite at the time so Ive used a spare one that I had. I have just ordered the original one and it should get here in a few days. There’s a couple of screws missing but they shall be replaced. I will post new photos of it as soon as I get it ready. Will get the final work done by a luthier, so You get a fully set and ready to gig piece of art. The guitar comes with the original, black tolex case made in USA for Fender by G&G. I will be quite reluctant of sending it away otherwise. I will consider offers within reason. I’ll post more photos soon so you can see the guitar in detail. I live in Fort William in the Scottish Highlands and youre more than welcome to come here and see whats cracking. Alternatively, a lot of my stuff still lives in Glasgow, so if you let me know a couple of days in advance that you are coming, Ill be ready.
