Up for sale is this late 80s early 90s ESP M-2 Deluxe Guitar in a Factory Candy Apple Red Finish. This guitar features the all black hardware, Floyd Rose Tremolo Bridge, ESP branded Gotoh tuners, Bolt on Hard Maple 3 piece neck with a 24 fret rosewood fret board with albone fret board maker dots and a custom ESP logo block inlay at the 12th fret, and a solid Alder wood body. Extremely simple layout lets you focus on shredding instead of over complicating things with all those switches and knobs. These guitars were made to shred. This particular guitar model seems to be an almost identical guitar to the ESP guitars George Lynch used back in the day. This guitar is somewhat of a oddity due to it has no markings on the back of the headstock that indicate where it was made however all the research Ive done tells me it wouldve been made in Japan. Ive seen a few other M-2s like this but most all of them had a round circle with ESP made in Japan on the back of the headstock. Another intriguing thing is the location of the serial number. On this guitar the serial number is located at the top of the neck plate where most every other one Ive seen have the serial number at the bottom of the neck plate. One more interesting feature of this guitar that sets it apart from all the other ones Ive ever seen are the Tremolo post. This guitar has the original Floyd Rose wood screw Tremolo post like all the Kramers from the 80s. Im not saying there arent a few others ones out there with these same Tremolo post but Ive never seen another one ever. Every ESP M-2 guitar Ive ever seen use the insert with the adjustable Tremolo post that move up and down inside the insert just like all Floyd Rose equipped guitars use today. This guitar comes with the original factory ESP hardshell case and the Black Tremolo arm. The case is in great shape as all the latches and hinges function as they should. The only issue I can see with the case is one of the support straps for the case lid has come unattached. The case lid strap on the other side is still attached and holds the case open very nicely. Im sure this is a easy fix. This guitar is used and being listed as so. Therefore there are a couple of scratches in the clear coat but are tough to see. I had to use the flash and angle the guitar just right to get them to show up. Some on the back and one on the front of the guitar at the lower front bout. See pictures for a better description of this guitars condition. There is a tiny finish crack at each side of the neck pocket which are small and very common on most guitars with this type of finish. I did spot a ding on the side of the top of the guitar towards the back bout. There are some small indentations on one side of the headstock by the locking nut which looks to be from hanging the guitar in a guitar wall hanger. A few slight areas around the edge of the face of the headstocks finish by nothing major. All and all this is a really sweet guitar and great find. Ive tried to describe this guitar to the best of my abilities but I might have missed something so please if you need to ask any questions please do so. I may not respond right away as I do have a full time job but I promise I will respond within a 24 hour period at the least. You will not be disappointed with this guitar.
