Here’s a 1979 Gibson L-5 Custom in a factory original tobacco sunburst finish. This guitar has typical playwear for a 40+ year old guitar. The top, back and sides have some dings , light marks and scratches. There’s also some checking finish wear on the back – mainly on the solid maple control cover – see pics. There’s a little wax residue on the strap button – which has been buffed out and is no longer there. The knobs look newer. 3 of the 4 pots date to the 1st week of 1979 and pickups are the original Gibson humbuckers which are dated Jan 17 and Feb 19 1979. The neck is a 60’s slim taper. She weighs 10.1 lbs on a digital scale. It plays and sounds superb. It has just been deep cleaned and detailed. The frets were polished and the fingerboard was cleaned, buffed and moisturized with an instrument grade lemon oil. It was set up with 10/46’s, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics work as they should. Please look at all 50+ pictures- they accurately represent the condition of this instrument. Comes with the original Gibson hardshell case as seen in the pictures. We can declare a low value.
