Early 1980’s Yamaha SG1000. Great sounding guitar and plays very well. The guitar is a tone monster, full humbucker sound but with loads of definition that can cut though a mix very well. The tone pots are push/push, however the neck tone pot push/push mechanism is broke, but it still works as a push/pull. The tone pots are “no load”pots, which means when they are turned all the way up the tone circuit is bypassed which gives the guitar a more open/aggresive sound. The neck is quite chunky. The action is good, currently set with 10 gauge daddario strings. From what I know some SG1000 models came with ebony fretboard and some with rosewood. There are a few chips on the neck that have been sealed. The biggest one is the one near the 1st fret (see pic). This is not structual, it is a chip on the finish and structure or playability is not affected. The tune-o-matic bridge has been replaced with a new original yamaha SG bridge (they are hard to find). There are some dents and scratches mainly on the sides and back of the body, as you would expect from a guitar of this age. Pickups, electronics and hardware are original. Overall a great playing and sounding guitar that has stood the test of time. It comes with a Stagg hard case. Any questions please feel free to ask.
